dunno if it's been posted already but Blessed Briault increases the proc rate of elemental bar spells, in turn making you resist more. haven't had a HQ myself so i can't test if it's the same or not

Do you have #s to back this up?Originally Posted by Helpoemer

that doesnt really make sense... barspells already increase the rate of resistance, thats what barspells do...Originally Posted by Helpoemer
unless you mean wearing the brialt increases your own resistance rate as a hidden effect? it certainly doesnt affect your visable elemental resistances..
anyway, to remotely prove that you would need more than a "i noticed".. what exact gear was everyone wearing in terms of element resistance, how many samples, etc etc. You taking 30 damage when other people take 500 indicates that you resisted and they didnt.. that time.
wasnt it allready said that casting barspells w/ the briault gives you a MDB+5 to that specific element ?

One thing I'd like to know is how trump crown scales.
It varies based on job and level, but I honestly don't know the exact numbers. I used to run Royal Ramble all the time but I haven't done it in months so most knowledge of it's bonuses has floated out of my mind.
lol someone in my LS said that Trump Crown was rumored to give hidden Treasure Hunter...and ironically enough he went like 1/2 on Thief's Knife (got the drop by killing on WHM, wearing crown) dunno if it's true though.
unless i had one i was selling, i would more likely chalk that up to luckOriginally Posted by Ddz

I've heard this rumour myself, by a handful of people, but I'm a big skeptic on these things unless there's some kind of proof.Originally Posted by Ddz
Same here. I saw one on Valefor in bazzar about six months ago I almost bought it but thought it was too much bullshit to be true.Originally Posted by Alastaire

With TH1, (Z + X) / 256
With TH2, (Z + X + Y) /256
With TH2 and Thief Knife, (Z + X + Y + 1) /256
With TH2, Thief Knife and Relic Hands, (Z + X+ Y + 1 + 1) / 256
X is probably equal to 1.
Y is probably equal to 1.
Assuming Rock Salt will drop 128/256 times, TH4 would likely increase it to 132/256.... Not a big deal on a common drop, however, on a less common drop... say 2/256 chance, TH4 will make that 6/256... or 3/128 (which seems to be close to par with Thief Knife's drop rate.... or in the case of my LS - Wyrmal Legs... )![]()
All just speculation though. However, almost everything in this game is based on "256" - even damage reduction gear.
For example, Jelly Ring... 5% damage reductuion... 5% of 256 is 12.8. That gets rounded down to 12... 12/256 = 4.6875% (I'm pretty sure that's how it gets worked out, but basically FFXI doesn't deal with decimals in fractions - and rounds them down.)
