I don't know how much is the increase and if it works with "Jump" only or with "High Jump" also.
From my experience, I've yet to see them work with High Jump (usually consistant damage when I hit) but have seen them work with Jump a decent amount.

Rilu (who posts here) had one and sold it to a well known JP Drg. I'll try asking him for the amount of TP it gives. I'd ask Rilu, but I'm not sure if he ever used Drg sub to find out.

Do you know the base stun rate, and stun rate with Gauntlets?

I've a theory on how TH works.

It's like a synthesis calculation. You have an NQ, HQ, HQ2, HQ3 result.

With no TH at all, you have tier 0 for the HQ chance.

With TH, you have tier 1

With TH+1, you have tier 2

With TH+2, you have tier 3

Some "Treasure Roll"s that aren't affected by TH - mostly these are handled by TH2 (a seperate trait). Whether +TH affects TH2 rolls, I don't know.

Example: In Dynamis, from the mobs, currency drops work on normal TH. AF2 works on TH2 rolls. So only THF main affect AF2 drops, but /THF help on currency.

Note that mobs can have multiple treasure rolls to be done - dynamis mobs have (at least) 2 currency rolls and 1 AF2 roll.

Crystal and Seal drops are outside normal drop slots.

It's not enough data to convince a statistician, but at the very least it does answer the question "is the difference significant" with a resounding "no". The mob was Diatryma in Misareaux Coast btw, and the more common drop was a G. Bird Feather, and the less common drop was a G. Bird Plume.

I'd say that is a significant difference for rare items.

Consider an item with < 1% drop rate. With Thief's Knife, you've now more than doubled it.

I would be interested in seeing some sort of "proof" of that since the NQ don't do nearly that much.
Parsed it not too long ago in Movalpolis while getting the rock for the Uleguerand Range map, ended up being 106/503 on Double Attacks with the Calligae +1, Brutal Earring, and one DA merit.

    106 / 503 = 21.073558648111332007952286282306

So the 5% range seems about right.

I've got the parse still but it's 500 lines long so I don't feel like straight up posting it in this thread, I can PM it to you if you want though.

I think items like that are higher HQ results on the treasure roll.

X: Suppanomimi - Enhances "Dual Wield" Effect
    - Combined delay of both weapons reduced by an additional 5%.
Anyone have a link to tests for this? I've heard 3, 4, 5%... Would be nice to have proof for personal reasons.

It won't convince me. I still remember getting 6 ro'maeve waters within 1 hr in a 6-man pt after i had finally gotten xarca armlets. 6 waters in 1hr is fucking amazing drop rate, doubt it would be from 1-2% increase...

I do believe it is somthing like someone had said before, where everyone has an /random roll to get drops and TH just increases how many rolls the thf gets.
    6ppl-1 is TH4 thf = 10 rolls
    6ppl-1 is just normal TH2 thf = 8 rolls
i think all the rolls are taken into account and and each monster will have drop table for the rolls..
here is what i would call thief knife nm drop table...maybe..
    0-200 nothing
201-450 tonberry coat + tonberry lantern
    451-700 coat, lantern, crystal
    701-950 coat, lantern, crystal, mugwort
    951+ coat, lantern, crystal KNIFE

Of course you know that is not exactly how it works but i believe it works somthing like that..

Something similar to that happened to my group once before I had Thief's Knife or Assassin's Armlets. There was also a screenshot in the crafting forum a while back from a guy who HQed 4 Cursed Mitts out of 20 synths. Shit happens sometimes, even if it's really good shit

aye, there so much randomness and luck combined in it, that people will most likely never really figure out.

what came first the chicken or the egg?

Flukes like that happen in any random system, that's where statistics come in to play

Blind luck? I've failed to see even 1 water drop with TH3/4 in an hour before...

3+ hours with TH3: too many tests for a sane man, and 1~2 waters.

There is too much 'dumb luck' and stupid loot rules for a consistent +% increase for +TH items.

Edit: I realize now this was before the TP nerf so the numbers might not be accurate, but I'm not sure.

I've done both lots of water in short time (just did 2 in 5 kills other night) and also gone 4-5H without a single drop with multiple TH4 in group.

There really are only two firm conclusions about Treasure Hunter: it probably increases drop rates and when it comes to a vote, superstition beats statistics.

I don't know how someone can be like "I'm gonna choose to ignore [insert well done scientific test involving literally thousands of trials] and instead I will believe this [insert anecdotal evidence concerning what happened that one time, remember?]". This is 2006, not 1545. The Earth is round.
