Need SAM input on Soboro Sukehiro

I didnt sub thief on my SAM till like... 65, and only with a monk or DRK in the PT. Otherwise I just subbed WAR >_>

IMO, soboro works best with /rng and /war. I liked /war better than /rng when I leveled my samurai because I didn't like having to use sushi. Meat + zerk + soboro = really impressive DoT during my time spent as SAM. Kinda useless to /thf because the point of thf is having large WS damage to close a skillchain, or plant hate onto a tank (or both obviously), and using a d40 GKT is somewhat counterproductive to those tasks.

When you aren't spamming TP, Hagun is definitely a better option.

Soboro with the right attack build can offer up alot better DoT in merits then Hagun, not as much epeen involved but DoT for sure. Sucks in the mire though, gogo Amnesia

curious if anyone has parsed the latent on hachiman, does the brutal attack on the head proc during WS or only when you have over 100 TP?

Does not proc during WS unless you have 2hour up, since obviously then you will have over 100 TP for the first 2 WSs

tbh the damage difference between Hagun is minimal, but soboro does perfrom better if you wear good gear and eat meat. get one if you can manage it.

I don't believe it is worth the TP cost in most situations pre-sidewinder (unmeritted, that's pre-57).

In addition, it need the gear to support it. Both high quality RAcc gear for maximum weaponskill damage, and a heavily attack-biased gear setup. The damage and the speed of the attacks ends up working more like a MNK than a SAM.

I'm slightly mystified as to why this question is here. Soboro Sukehiro isn't an "endgame" piece (unless you count 'winderising Spongilla flies in the mire "endgame"). Any sensible LS officer will shoot you and boot you for taking Soboro Sukehiro near anything more significant than Brigandish Blade.

It's a good piece for "soft" targets though.

idk about it not being "end game" I've used it on Kirin with sexy results...nothing else really though, so I can't speak too much for its end game capacities.

Personally I use either Onimaru or Ushikirimaru at Kirin, and Kamewari in much of the rest of sky.
