The main problem with the relic gun, is that while in the bow/arrow combination, most of the power lies within the bow, in the gun/bullet combination most of the power lies within the ammunition. Until they come out with some kind of permanant recycle relic ammunition the relic gun will always be lackluster.

Coronach was doing LOL 200-400 dmg RNG/WAR on Tiamat last weekend compared to Mercy Stroke of consistently 500-900. I gave the RNG AGI etude, and THF STR Etude.
(yayyy I am not "just" a ballad whore lol)

Morale of the story, Gun sucks in practical not just in theory.

Gizamimi was with us at Tiamat that time.

As for Etude, I must admit I am a mage person (all mage 75) and don't know much about melee. Forgive me!

Rangers have a pretty severe damage penalty vs. Tiamat....I am almost positive its worse than the penalty normal melee get....

In any event, any melee with SA and a strong 1 hit WS (Steel Cyclone, Spinning Slash, Spiral Hell, Full SwingLOL, etc.) can do 1k+ on Tiamat...so there is really nothing impressive about a THF doing 1000+ when other melee can too

Hell, Tdizzle who posted the rng upgrades has 1.5k+ non-relic Shark bites on timmy. I'd be more interested in amina/matix SS of damage/findings of their respective weapons than comparing either to dagger.

You can spam Namas and never pull hate also. I use namas on Colibri at 100% doing 2k dmg sometimes and dont pull hate.

Well, to be honest, the only relics that are really worth it are shield/horn. One might be able to argue GK, but 2x more MP regeneration will always beat out the little extra damage from GKT. The rest (including dagger) are for floss; there is nothing wrong with that however, but at least people should admit it.

Shield and Horn are truly amazing, however i feel most relics add to their corresponding jobs damage output and usefulness and by doing that, increase the efficiency of the group / linkshell.

I do feel some are toys... WHM club is great for solo and for fun/ballista but a whm wont melee on most events. Same with staff. But most others, imo, do help and shouldn't just be tossed aside as being for floss
