0 - 180 Delay uses this formula to calculate TP gain per strike ? 5.0 + [(Delay - 180) * 1.5] / 180

Since Dual Wield traits modify delay, you have to calculate them in advance.

Double Attack is not a factor when determining the amount of TP gained per hit.

And also do you use a Brutal /WAR? Or Pixie or whatnot.

Brutal is a fulltime earring with one exception. The only time Brutal is not used is when you are single wielding and you have activated Assassin's Charge for your weaponskill. You have forced the next WS to triple attack and you have no other hand to modify. Go with a stat driving earring in it's place.

the only thing /war is good for is voking fafnir, but since mine wasn't 37 when I got my mandau it turned into this huge game of "omgletsseewhohas37warwhentheygettheirmandaulololo cooollll"

Eh, versus hnm where I'm not tanking (Kirin, certain jailers such as Love, Prudence, Cerberus, Fafnir and sky gods) i'd prefer /war over /nin. Hitting for zero without a bard sucks.

Depends how your LS fights certain things.

I have access to a 2boxable bard, so I can pretty much guarantee a bard for melee's (not to mention the songs I want). I prefer /nin for JoL because certain people in my LS are epeen hungry, and seemingly forget the concept of "guaging hate" when its their epeen on the line, so JoL has a tendency to use TP attacks other than Fluorescence on us, and some of its more high powered WS's are blinkable.

/war is more fun than /nin, but /war is not designed for the same parties /nin is. I find myself in all parties pulling hate just TPing, the big question is "Is there someone to balance that out with me". Like will the monk use Asuran when my health starts dipping, can I do vice versa? etc.

/war on all melees is designed more for rdm/whm/brd backline (think KRT and 2004/5 xp)
/nin on all melees is designed for the 4 melee 1 brd 1 rdm backline (think 2006/7 meriting).

Also depends on the camp, thf/war is near suicidal at Demons and Abraxas, although I have done it there - just need someone able to bounce hate with.

Another thing THF can "cheat" with is TA, if you have melees that respond well to you and listen, you can get away with TA+WS'ing, or just flat out TA at the beggining to lopside hate, then SA + WS on the back (but prepare to tank till the monster or you die ).

Anytime I can get the first backline I do try and do the whole /war thing, but finding 2 people who want to come mage these days (and finding good ones) can be pretty hard.

Nothing is wrong with /war, people who can't play it well might be against it though. It's really really fun once you know the "do and don't" of it.
