Not gonna wear it as a whm/nin melee, and whens the last time you took hate on a HNM O.o. Not to mention, sell novia/weskit/stave = your done with club in a month.

What is nice is when your jobs only need Ra/Ex gear so you can't really gimp you main job for Relic.

Neo, I'm usually BLM for everything for BC Q_Q. For all HNM's I'd still be BLM or WHM (not /nin). The only thing I'd be WHM/NIN for in BC is maybe zerged v2s for Randgrith to -evasion Bahamut. I'd basically use the club for soloing and meriting.

Mayeh's gear still isn't that bad off. Black Belt will be had soon enough and a Brutal is finally a few coins away from him having it also. It's probably nice for him having that weapon knowing he owes nobody any gil for it. Very few self funded relic owners can get away with saying that.

I dont know, I think parsing 10% less on my ninja in meripo/salvage due to downgrading Bomblet -> Core, Dusk Gloves -> acc, Haub+1 -> haub, and RSE feet -> rare/ex alternates (for example) is worth finishing Aegis reasonably earlier.

No doubt I could just keep chugging away farming, crafting, ENM, etc, and get Aegis in a bit longer time, but I think having Aegis for the time it takes me to rebuy some of my nin gear will benifit me/LS more then slightly faster kills in xp/etc.
