Bestovian got a 1394dmg Blade:metsu last night by closing Light with /thf

Hexa strike -> SA + Blade:Metsu -> (1394 metsu + 1394 Light)
He's working on making a +dex build, ill see if he can be prodded into posting more infos himself :wink:

on what mob? It's easy to get that on EP with any relic, unless this was an xp mob, diff story.

All previously collected data had Metsu capping out at mid 900s even with a dex build, and had no mention if they ever tried /thf and attempted a SA+WS.
I find it particularly interesting that he was able to milk an additional 400ish damage out of the ws compared to all previously available data, *and* also get an unresisted level3 light+dark effect equal to the closing ws damage.
Maybe brutal earring+SA bumped it that high, i'm just impressed that someone broke 1k with it finally.

Based on all the screens and parses i've seen of Bow, GK, and dagger, they appear to have less of an issue getting the sc damage equal the closing ws damage (not getting resisted) which is why I also found a 1394metsu+1394 light pretty nice.

i think you're right that there isn't much info on it, which is why you don't see many damage screenshots, but doing 1000 dmg with it isn't really new (at least for exp purposes). it happens for me in that manner but personally i can't really say that it was noteworthy enough for me to document. to me, it just happens to be harder to do than with jin.

and yeah i'd agree with your speculation that it was brutal and SA, 1394 is a pretty significant number regardless of the monster. i'd go on further to speculate that the unresist was just an anomaly, but it'd be pretty interesting if metsu had an inclination for higher sc damage. still, i'd doubt such a possibility cause i figure other ws's would have same chance.

maybe it's something i can test out more thoroughly myself.

edit here> i should also say, in all my times i've ended light skillchains on fafnir, i can't ever recall seeing full unresisted skillchain damage. i think, though anecdotal, at least it gives an idea of its chances on something that strong.
