Im just for calling things for what they are, with 0% bullshit. Taru plds have alot of strengths, awesome mp management, and cuteness factor. But they do have less survivability in "oh shit" situations then the other races(if even a little). Good tanking will keep you rocking 95% of the time, but sometimes shit happens.

The problem with "idle" HP gear and then switching to the hate/defense stuff as needed carries an issue. When you change out of the HP gear, your HP is gonna drop. So having loads of HP gear that you are very quickly changing out of doesn't really do much at all.

Don't get me wrong, I think any race can play any job equally as good as any other race. Without a doubt race affects how you achieve that, and I do agree that in some situations some races by their very nature do excel where some don't. Maybe I'm biased because I've been a galka SMN for 4 years. But I'll tell you know, in the "oh shit" moments, 1400 MP does nothing when some AoE doing 800 damage goes off and all the Taru SMNs are dead on the ground. But I'm still running around alive laughing the whole time.

And for me as a Galka SMN, I stopped worrying about max MP "idle" gear since it does nothing. Soon as I hit my BP, all my BP skill/perp cost/bp timer gear is dropping that MP away anyways, so there is no need for it. All the "idle" gear does is make for e-peen screenshots.

i dont see whats so "egocentric" about upgrading* 2 of the most useful relics. Sure its pretty obvious the pics are crying for attention & making all pld w/o aegis QQ. But who cares? Especially if he paid out of his own pocket?(I'm assuming)

Meh. Attention whore? Sure. But frankly, it doesn't really bother me. I don't see why it should matter. Anyone who gets any item that's only "meh," or they can't equip, that's rare, does it for the "OMG" factor. Hell, I got a Perseus' Harpe sitting in my Storage, wasting away, until I'll level THF (which I will - eventually). Jealous of the Aegis? Damn right I am, considering it's taken me a year and a half just to get 10 hundreds of each currency for my own Aegis. But in the end, it just more makes me hope he'll be a good PLD when he "grows up," because shitty players with relics makes me infinitely more sad than players with relics they can't equip yet. It's unfair that someone who basically sucks at this game, still can make enough gil to upgrade a relic (one way or another - or dupe an ls into sponsoring for them). As long as Wopa levels his PLD in seriousness, I got no problem with it. What's wrong with being a bit of an attention whore sometimes?

Truth be told, I used to be the same way, but I've long since grown out of it and don't really care as much as I used to (but I'm still egotistical just I have more control over it than before )

If you wanna rank relic owners depending on "how much he worked for/deserved it" i'd say he is not on the bottom nor the top. I'd place the guy who uses all his gil to buy currancy from bazaars and does not take advantage of "cheap dyna funded currancy" at the top. And the first mentioned last.
