I know this is supposed to be a thread about completed relics, but I'd like some advice on ways for someone to self-fund their own relic (no stupid "Fire Clusterz" jokes or the like please).

My husband is 75 Thief with TH4 and I am 75 WHM and SMN (Bard 55 and lvling now that SMN is to 75). We have tried a few tricks like Duoing Prime Avatars, farming Bats in Zitah, but is all just seems so slow and boring... We do not belong to a major HNM LS and our Dynamis shell does not currently fund relics for members (though it may begin helping ppl on final 2 stages soon).

I've seen a few things people have done to fund their own relics, but without a 100 craft or 75 BLM for manaburn BCs, I'm not sure what other big money makers are available to us... Please, any and all advice is welcome.

there isn't going to be a non-slow-and-boring way to self fund a relic. the only way to do it is farm your ass off, whether its puffballs in lufaise or trying to corner a market (like fire bomblet), both of which require endless hours each week farming and being bored as shit, which is why so many people give up

Asking how to self-fund a relic = asking how to make gil.

And as Moguri stated, it's not going to be a quick and easy process. I doubt there is any gil making process that the two of you wouldn't know of at this point.

You want to invest 500 billion gil into one item? It's going to take a long ass time.

On top of that JPs stole Dynamis X from us yet again this week, so we still can't go get the final item needed to complete our shell's first stage 5 relic...

You have to decide your priorities.

If you take it slow, your relic will probably take forever and again.

But as you mentioned, if you try to burn through it, you'll lose your interest in the game and defeat the purpose.

I always thought it was funny how the JPs started joining Enigma ... it's like pre claim-patch days again where NAs would join JP shells to get abjurations, just this time it's the other way around.

Oh well, at least their recruitment staff makes sure their new members maintain the level of lulz propagated by their LS.

I'd say this case is peculiar (aka, deliciously ironic) since it's pretty much equal to Tornado* joining a linkshell whose handshake is the "/check" feature, if you know what I mean. And yeah, aside from that, lolenigma indeed.

It wasn't anything everyone here doesn't already know lol... I just sent it in a PM rather than post it on the thread since it'll likely lead to a respond/answer/respond set of posts that throw this off-topic.

And regardless I'm planning on making an LJ entry about the same topic next opportunity I have, so anyone that really wants to know can see a more detailed description later. I'm hoping to do it this week but with plans for super bowl Sunday I'm not sure if I'll be able make time for it now or next week or what.
