I'd disagree. Normally SAM's really start liking /thf when they get Gekko (they get Gekko at 65 right? /32war is fully leveled sub then) and /thf works for most end-game situations for SAM, best in fact for most of the big mobs. For a thief, /nin is near useless at a number of big mobs and HNM's and /war is where it's at.

Do you mean without relic? My Rng/war can out damage most wars or parse around the same as Ridill, Mnk/war too. But you lose all defense and its not worth it. With a relic? Not sure yet but my friend is 30 Silvers from her Yoich and can't get a loan but I'll be asking her for parses when she gets it.

Yeah I can imagine Sam/war being amazing with Yoichi. That enmity doesn't make much sense though O.o I know gun is the one that has -enmity WSs.

Yeah we dont get it. Bard can pull with elegy, he can immediately open with a 1600 Namas and it wont even look at him, it's weird but really good since he can basically keep up with ridill WARs now and not have to worry about throwing up seigan or taking much if any damage at all. Sidewinder etc still pull the same hate as always though.

It's the enmity reduction that activates for/after the WS, thinking it has to be something like -50-80% or so enmity while the effect is active.

I've seen Muteki use the bow a lot and he'll never pull hate with Namas, even in the same situations you just mentioned. I'll do nothing more than engage a slept mob dealing maybe 200 damage, then he'll fire off a Namas for 1600 damage and the mob will still be looking at me.

At HNM fights he goes SAM/WAR and spams the hell out of Namas non-stop keeping himself alive while he TPs on adds with a WHM mule... It's pretty insane, and he never gets hate. I think the most I remember seeing was something crazy like 13 Namas in one Tiamat flight.

Ls mate of mine has similar experiences with Coronach. He can fire and land a full Barrage, and the mob comes after him. Then he can throw a Coronach and the mob just stops in its tracks and goes after someone else. I think it's an almost 100% hate loss for the RNG, but why would Namas Arrow do this? Namas Arrow doesn't have an aftereffect of Enmity down.

Well it's not part of the WS description. the official WS aftereffect of Namas Arrow is "Temporarily Increases Ranged Accuracy". It this a hidden aftereffect? If so, does Gun have a "hidden" aftereffect?

I remember reading about the clearing hate thing from people "talking" to JPs a long time ago before much was known about relics...I had no clue at the time if it was true.

I think the Haste thing is mentioned on the Scythe in the description but I'm not sure.

The bow has Racc+ on its hidden effect. The Gun has -enmity on its hidden effect. It would seem the Bow might too but 1st time I heard this.

I can confirm what Ruke has said about the bow. I've seen Muteki many times in Dynamis solo mobs that a PLD is holding. Pre RNG nerf he would stand there and kraken them and fire 3-4 Namas off and the PLD would have hate by simply doing the normal voke/flash routine.

/war still outparses /thf anyday in Exp/merits. Most thfs I know go /sam for HNMs anyways....

/sam is fucking useless. If meleeing it's worse for tp gain than /nin and /war, if you're not meleeing at all, 60tp every 3min is still shit. If your LS treats you that horribly get some sleeping pots and opo necklace...or a new LS.

And yeah sure sam/war > sam/thf for exp/merits overall, but I could say the same thing about thf/war > thf/nin. Guess we won't get into that debate with the THF's here who never had the sub to exp with back in the day, though

For HNM's, where SAM's really shine, /thf is where it's at, and in the old "SC + MB' exp parties /thf was used more too. But I guess thf's sub doesn't really matter since we're just used for TH whores and never for DDing

I was just commenting on how the few Thfs I see go Thf to HNM (Usually TH4 weilders) go /sam and alternate in. I'm not even sure whats best..
