Not really, you wont get a relic unless you worked 2 years in the LS and spent countless of hours camping etc. Free relic is the wrong term. Trust me, every of our relic holder worked more for it than you for your Amano.

I usually never comment on this thread but saying that someone who got his relic funded by LS Fund and paid prolly 10mil worked harder for his relic over someone who self-funded is retarded. Your argument is retarded. Like Neo's post, anyone can contribute to a LS and camp pretty hard and still get a "free relic", because other than participating in HNMs, very little comes out of your pocket (if the 10mil bit is correct) as opposed to the entire cost of a relic.

Also, I'm not aware of your shield count in your LS, Niki, but aren't most LS-funded relics something that's beneficial to the LS and not just the char like Shield and Horn?

Sorry for the late reply, but in my opinion someone who: crafts all day for his own benefit/Had a few lucky HQs/Sponsor a dynamis run 2 times a week/took advantage of the deflation/farms all day fire crystals (not so serious) or simply stole daddys credit card etc doesn't work as hard (not saying they didnt work for it) as someone who is camping since 2 years now an average of 8-10 hours per day and is about 18-22 hours per day on call ready to help when needed. And 95% of that time you help your LS and not yourself.
Maybe i have some completely wrong idea here, but my guess is 90% of the relic holder wouldnt want to switch with someone like that to get their relics and the other 10% got it that way.
I would be very careful with calling that idea retarded at least. Especially if you have no fucking clue about Mercury and the time that some of our member invest into the LS.
Next time you want to comment something that requires some background information

i agree, in short: Self-Funded Relic in an HNM LS > LS-Funded Relic in an HNM LS > Self-Funded Relic and not in an HNM LS, in terms of necessary effort.

but the effort placed forth in an HNM LS gets you a lot more things than just relics, such as the items listed above. it's pointless to try to value that time as what someone does to get a relic when the same time is used to acquire Ridills, Defending Rings and multiple body abjurations.

I think the total currency I was able to purchase from Dbums constituted about 10% of the total, though I realize you are kidding.

I want Excalibur because of the add effect, and I know Burtgang won't have something similar (because making it like Excalibur would be really stupid, I think we all agree), so I'm kinda sad, especially since I have Hauteclaire. I can't really think of any stats that would make it better than Mac+1/Hauteclaire, but not as good as Excalibur without having some sort of stat overlap. @_@

I'm hoping for like Accuracy +10, Attack +10, Enmity +5 and Add Effect: MP recovery, plus some nifty WS that has a good add effect.

I want Excalibur because of the add effect, and I know Burtgang won't have something similar (because making it like Excalibur would be really stupid, I think we all agree), so I'm kinda sad, especially since I have Hauteclaire. I can't really think of any stats that would make it better than Mac+1/Hauteclaire, but not as good as Excalibur without having some sort of stat overlap. @_@

Im thinking since its pld onry it will be more along the lines of -damage taken and emnity boost, or a boost to one of our JAs. That would still leave excal as being awesome DD weapon and good Regen for soloing/low manning, while making burtgang useful for other situations.

Our rule is any relic you can get to stage4 will be completed by the linkshell if you are in the linkshell for at least 6 months and have high attendance. If you are a BLM with lv4 staff, we will complete it, it takes us like 2 weeks no big deal. We stopped fully funding relics after someone decided it would be cool to vanish with one.

Ah, okay. That's pretty fair then, not really what I expected.

*EDIT* That came off differently than I intended. I didn't mean it to sound negative, I just expected that you guys did it similar to other shells in that you would only upgrade "useful" relics for long-standing members and not upgrade someone's Gungnir or Ragnarok or whatever, if they wanted.
