you sound like every other aces helm owner who doesn't have and will never get full usukane; therefore, full usukane must be town gear for SAM.

Not at all mate, as I've just been discussing the very same thing in PMs with the previous poster, it's very much a personal preference. We're not all self-rightous twats on BG. You'll find I can discuss prefferred gear setups for any situation your SAM will face without having to go "zomg my aces is better tha your Usu".

The main difference is 2% haste, 3 attack vs 4 accuracy, 1.5 wdmg, 6 store TP, 56 evasion. By using mix-n-match, Sam does a slight bit more damage basically by virtue of the extra 2% haste.

However, 56 evasion is a huge amount. Full usukane is very noticeable on merit-level mobs on my monk--so much so that I'm wanting to replace my merman's earring with an ethereal earring for the net +9 evasion for -1 attack. The 6 STP also means that less merits are needed to break the 6-hit tier, and the only other good place to put those merits is a slightly shortened 3rd eye recast.

Thus, a samurai with full usukane does a bit less damage in return for a huge amount of durability.

Nah, just a friend who quit. Promised to give em back if he ever comes back, which I will, but I honestly think he's done for good, as does he.

Thanks hemo, as for the white tathlum that is to achieve 6hit without askar, I like the extra acc regardless cause you still can miss shit, and no i dont have justice which is sad but JoJ wont put after 20+ kills so hopefully my next 4 popsets will yield something. As for the bushi, i still use NIN a lot for various things so im not gonna toss dual wield for bushi seeing as how I am not on SAM full time due to being a RDM as well.

It's your choice which earring you keep and you don't really need to defend it, but that reasoning is silly. If RDM is the reason you're not on SAM all the time then the same thing applies to NIN, and SAM can outperform NIN at everything that NIN does except tanking, and you don't use a Suppanomimi for tanking anyway.

Soloing/Duoing/Trioing, Suppa will help his NIN, and SAM will not do better at that.

SAM wont outtank NIN in all situations without being an MP sink. I think what Kin means is when he is a whore and uses his -DMG setup on NIN to hold Temperance or tank Prudence. But also regarding him not using Suppa on NIN because SAM is a better DD, Ruke went over this a long time ago benefits of Suppa far outweigh the benefits of the minor ACC/ATT increase given by Bushi over Mermans.

Fair enough on the duo/trio part, but I still think it makes more sense to fully pimp your relic job rather than worry about other jobs. Also I said that SAM could out-rank NIN on everything BUT tanking, obviously NIN is superior at that, but you also don't use a Suppa for that.

Anyway, like I said, his earring, his choice, but I'd go Bushi.

Well tbh if i never played NIN again I would drop suppa but i have other jobs that use it and I can live without that bit of acc since i use haub full time anyhow instead of askar. If someday I feel i don't wanna play NIN then maybe ill consider exchanging but with my busy schedule i doubt ill ever have time to do DM again
