If you want kraken club style why NOT go for single wielding with a double attack rate increase? But I know what you mean with going /nin. I already take hate often in merit parties (though not as often in my recent setup with LS, only take hate really with WS's not normal attacks) so additional tanking ability is always helpful. I think in a whm/rdm/brd backline I'd /war just to give the whm something to do.

Your gear implies that you kill fafnir every once in awhile. By upgrading a relic dagger, I'd assume thief is a job you play fairly often. The thought of a thf/nin on fafnir is just kinda gross. Well, if you've got armlets and a knife, it's not so gross below 10%.

I mean, grats and stuff on completing, but.... yeah.

Who said I go THF/NIN to Fafnir? I've gone THF/WHM so I can Stoneskin myself sometimes when my party doesn't have a SMN. It's not much with shitty MND, but at least it keeps t hings interesting. I've also gone THF75/WAR29 quite a few times, I have a decent claim rate on Faf in fact.

Just curious, should THF/WARs be using Warcry or something at Fafnir?

it's not what the sub actually does, but that if it's a sub you actually use and you don't fully level it, that's really lazy.

Depends on your definition of lazy I suppose. If by lazy you mean crafting nonstop, farming nonstop, devoting 110% of my energy into figuring out how to make money to support this weapon, then I've definitely been lazy. I know I know, if I have time to camp Fafnir I have time to level WAR, especially since getting to 37 is nothing. But it all comes down to priorities, and for me spending even a few hours levelling a sub which for all intents and purposes was fairly useless for my playstyle was lower down on the priority list than making money to support this weapon. Which of the following 3 choices is most attractive to you, the player?


1) The highest DoT weapon in the game unlocking a powerful 1 hit weaponskill and the chance for a normal attack to do three times as much damage as usual.

2) A few points of STR (from subbing WAR)

3) Having people not perceive you as lazy.

When you understand these priorities, you'll understand why I've put off levelling WAR.

I like the idea of not sharing the dagger with another slot, but at the same time with 2 Dly176 weapons plus dual wield, suppa, march, haste spell, 12% haste from gear, brutal earring, corazza, and full triple attack merits, I also can't help but want to watch myself bash enemies to death kraken club style.

Ah that's not bad :D I chose abyssal and dont have acess to as much haste gear, /point my LJ for my luck on homam, either I lose all lots or we dont win omega >_>

I'm uploading a vid on youtube now, of my thf/war with 2 march + haste + haste gear, and considering I dont have access to all that haste gear you do, it'd even out with having double march on me I guess.

Finishing this has made me consider doing a little more work on that parser. I have an idea for a pretty good algorithm to test how often the triple damage procs (I know it's _about_ 5%, but I want an exact number) and I might go from there and see about recording crit rate for 20 seconds after every Mercy Stroke.

Prepare for dissapointment +crit hit rate on all items is bullshit, Pahluwan and mercy stroke show little increase. Sure sometimes I get a nice streak of full crits right after WS, but it's not consistent like it should be. Imo it should be like mighty strikes after WS. Overpowered? Duh, it's a fugging relic.

Low. Especially if you have 1 THF in the entire allianec use Feint, which will basically set any mob in the game's evasion to almost 0.
