It makes no difference whether she drops them or not, according to you, so what's the big deal?

Because she chooses to. Senseless? Hardly. She is under no obligation to keep her account alive for the relic she funded all by herself if she's not going to play it. She is not obligated to pass it on to anyone. I know once I'm gone Lordwafik's dagger is going poof.Originally Posted by Xavier
She had every right to drop it, no argument there, but that doesn't mean it wasn't senseless.
Senseless how? You keep bringing up this word.Originally Posted by Xavier

Dropping it doesn't accomplish anything if the player is going to quit, and if you're quitting theres no reason for you to take your character to the grave if you had any friends at all who you trust not to fuck you over.
Senseless? What purpose does a "toon" serve once its creator is no longer there? When I quit, I'll pass on the non-rare/ex crap but all my accomplished other stuff is just going kaput.Originally Posted by Xavier
A matter of not wanting other people running around with your accomplishments.Originally Posted by Xavier
The point is you leave avenues open for someone to at least make use of the work you put in, if you find the people around you so shifty that you'd rather drop it than give it to anyone then that's one thing
but since that very well isn't the case, as you indicated, then uh... yeah, dropping it is sorta silly. Maybe it is so she never got the temptation to come back... then again you look at someone like soraan and you know that even dropping shit wont stop a person if they really want back in.
A matter of not wanting other people running around with your accomplishments.<_< why would you care more about it after you don't play than when you do somewhat.Considering she let her friends play with her account for a good 6 months before she came back and decided to delete it?
Unless someone can fully upgrade a relic by themselves (they can't), the accomplishment is not soley their own.Originally Posted by Lordwafik
Thats kinda just a selfish attitude. What difference does it make to someone whos using stuff they no longer care about? If you have friends still playing the game, why not let them continue to benefit from something they helped you get, rather than just erasing everything. You've quit, what difference does it make.
Hi! You must be new here!Thats kinda just a selfish attitude.
Your logic is silly.
Using your logic, until someone levels to 75 fully on their own, any accomplishment is not solely their own and therefore they may not delete the character and must share it or give it away when they are finished.
Hardly. No worthy accomplishment is doable in this game solo. What's selfish is you wanting her to remain tied to this game some how in a form she doesn't want.Originally Posted by Xavier
She doesn't owe jack shit to anyone. I , as her Dynamis LS leader, have no feelings of resent/regret etc helping brennon, so she is guilt free by Manaburn (the LS that helped her get her rare/ex items). All the coins she purchased solo with leathercraft (another fun fact! After completing relic with manaburn's help, she gave everyone in the LS free synths untill the day she quit, regardless of HQ or not). So she has nobody drooping on her vagina about her spharai that she could be owing to.
We've had this discussion before, there's a difference between a mutual benefit that one would not be able to obtain in the same manner otherwise and a group working toward one person's accomplishment.

Bandwagon please.
No, your attitude is the one that is selfish. If you wanted Spharai, you should have put the bulk of the work in and upgraded it on your own character.Originally Posted by Xavier
She quit, what difference does it make whether she drops them or not? None. Not a single bit of difference. So why rag on her for dropping them when it doesn't make any difference.
And she didn't think only of herself when she was quitting, she gave out hundreds of millions of gil worth in gifts to friends. The stuff that she couldn't transfer off her toon, she threw away, and deleted.Originally Posted by Xavier
The last 4 breaks I took from this game were for personal reasons. If you quit or break from this game... or hell any game then why do you do it? Something came up in your life. Something happened that prevents you from logging in. Sorry but when you quit the only thing you should be thinking of is yourself because its probably for the best.I said they had every right to delete it, just that there was no reason to only think of yourself if you're quitting.
I'm pretty sure it doesn't matter, she still has/had Destroyers amirite?
All things being equal, dropping your shit when you quit serves no purpose, other than self-interest. You can defend your friend all you want, but remove your bias and theres really no argument.
If you're quitting the game, hellbent on it, why does it matter what happens to your character. Even more so if you let people use it for 6 months, then decided to drop the gear.
Edit: And I'm not trying to personally attack your friend. She was obviously a nice person, charitable, etc, I don't really doubt that. I just think its a retarded thing for anybody to do. And beyond selfish explanations there isn't really any justification for it.
All things being equal, and assuming that you're going to discontinue the account, NOT dropping your ra/ex shit when you quit serves no purpose, other than vanity. You can criticize my friend all you want, but remove your bias and there's really no argument.Originally Posted by Xavier
Edit: and for clarity, exactly what I'm saying is this.
Either the spharai drop to the ground in the moghouse and we get a lulz screenshot. Or, they disappear in a puff of electrons when the character is forcibly deleted from the server. In both cases, they're gone, so who cares how they go?
