sorry to chime in , but i think the problem has to do with peoples definitions of words, in this case selfish...

as far as i can tell.. xavier is saying that unless you do something that is 100% selfless, you are being selfish... by brennon not being even more charitable in giving her account away, she is being selfish....
reminds me of the saying "if you're not with us, you're against us"

wafik seems to be saying that, just because you didnt do something selfless, that doesnt make you selfish.. you are neutral in that case, or fall under a different catagory.. "not 100% selfless"... (i understand she showed her selflessness by other means, and im not here to judge her either way ) and that is not a bad thing, nor is it the same as being selfish

personally i agree with wafik... this isnt a black and white arguement, you have to take into consideration all the shades of grey inbetween

Not that I've ever tried, but I was under the impression it wasn't possible to upgrade a second time to do a limitation by the game that prevented you from starting the quest more than once.

Entirely possible , there's a hume F with lvl5 and lvl4 dual weilded kikoku.

Must suck knowing that your 400m gil combo is outparsed by something you can buy from the AH for cheap.

I think 5/4 katana would be better than k/u or k/s, but thats still an awful lot of currency.

It's probably an mistake in coding where you can do more than 1 relic (e.g. Aegis + Excalibur) but either they forgot to set it so that you can do the same one more than once or it's not coded correctly that(like Aurik mentioned) redo it if you drop it.

Presumably would you get to Stage 4 and attempt to trade for the Stage 5, the NPC would tell you to return after resorting your inventory should you already have the final stage.

The quest is only active if you have certain items in your inventory. Stage 5 is not an item that activates the Goblin, he talks to you is if he has no idea who you are, so you can repeat it. Hell I can bet you could upgrade two of the same item at a time (like have Batardeau and Dynamis Dagger) if you kept one in your Mog Locker when you go to upgrade another.
