The first time I saw The Shining, it freaked me out.

Movies just aren't scary anymore, but I really don't blame the directors that much. It's just we've seen it all.

The trend I see lately is if it's a horror film, expect alot of gore and blood. You don't need people's limbs getting chopped off for it to be scary. That's SHOCKING not scary. Which is why I get pissed every time I see Rob Zombie preach that movies aren't scary anymore, all his frigging movies are things that you go "Ugh..." or "What the fuck..." and have people's eyes falling out and people puking up blood. Making people want to vomit does not equal scaring them. Making people check under their bed or making sure their doors are locked later that night equals scaring people.

I don't know about you, but I'm not exactly scared that some meowing kid is coming to get me.
