“Waking the Beast” aka the 18-man avatar fight.

Long, boring, excruciatingly bad storyline--the worst in the game, imho. Best have your memory wiped when this is over, or you'll hate Carbuncle forever for being an incoherent little emo squirt. And speaking of crap rewards, 2 JS weapons of uncertain value may drop from the bcnm, but everyone gets the 100% worthless Carbuncle Pole. Huzzah.

Prudence is annoying because it can spawn glitched. Otherwise it isn't a completely horrible fight, aside from splitting the aggro at the start. We ended up sac-popping it with one out of ally guy, then having an out of ally thf kite grab one to kite while I (pld/war) tanked the other.

When it spawns glitched its just the most annoying bullshit ever.

Proto-Ultima is an awful fucking mob too. First off, it has this thing for me where in the first 3 minutes it likes to pick me off with Wire Clipper (or whatever its called). Up to 2k damage on a pld/nin (I run about 1750 hp on that fight). Then you get obnoxious crap like equalizer which makes hate really screwy. Oh, and random HolyIIs on mages. Don't get me started on Shields. "Alright 27%, go Frag" and right as the second SC goes off, Ultima uses the Magic Shield. Then you have a warrior use MS and bam, Physical Shield after 1 hit. Citadel Buster doesn't even bother me much anymore... not hard for me to survive and if its not on me, it ideally gives a BLM or melee 20 seconds to wail on it. The thing is, when you end up eating 5 Busters, you don't have a lot of hate built up but w/e.

Most annoying mob would have to be a mob that

    A- sucks to fight
    B- drops crap
C- pain in the ass to get to

Anything that needs to be Chainspell stunned. I can't stand that stupid tactic even though it's required.

Dynamis Lord, King Vinegarroon, Champagne Cristal...

    Taisaijin

takes 24-72 hours for first pop, providing noone kills the Taisais (Including retarded BLUs who try getting Death Ray off them). It can aggro and drop you if you're afk, drops crap (Refresh, Spelunker Hat {0/6, thx square!}) and it's a pain in the ass to get to since most players can't locate ranguemount pass on a map.

How does Shen suck to fight?

A- You can kill it in 30sec with 3 BLMs and a bunch of DDs with SC.
B- Drops a nice armor for WHMs who like to solo, or skill up.
C- How is taking a boat a pain in the ass?

Going with Kurrea or whatever its called. Its just so random. Id rather it be based on skill and tactics or whatever than pure luck of the buffs. As others have said it can go down fast in like a few skillchains or it can come back at 100% for hours and aga rape your alliance till you just think sod it and give up only for the next one to be done in 5 mins. bleah

Most annoying fight is convincing your party to not go to caedarva mire when there's already 50+ people there.

Barring that, the most annoying fight I've had is Cerberus, tediously long fight then it goes apeshit at 25%, wipes the alliance because a stunner was afk Jerking off and the you start all over again... not to mention it drops nothing I consider to be worth the effort.

Most annoying (not hardest) for me is:

Alastor Antlion when the dam mob takes 25 spawns over the course of an hour to actually pop Alastor. Then finding out that 14 other people have pop items -.-

Kurrea because its either lol too weak or omgwtfisthisbsmob and then it doesn't drop and the person has a 2nd pop item 'just in case' >.>

    Mobs in Sea that make you run around the Gardens or Palace for hours on end before it finally pops and it drops the lolweapon only ;;

Anything with a level cap cause its annoying to mule gear >.>

Kurrea is 100% drop. People bring a 2nd item because even the most skilled LS can be raped in a few seconds of Mighty Wind (or whatever that wind+ buff is) then Aeroga III spam.

My pet peev with NMs are ones where nothing you could do makes a difference. So here's my list:

    1. Vrtra. Area is annoying in terms of adds. Poor drop table given that cashmire is available from an NPC+Desynth and now Bahamut II as well. But what bugs me is that you can go from win to wipe in a few seconds if you get 2 wings too close. Nothing you can do to 'prevent' it and the wings to way too much damage and sleep slows you down. Or there's the Vrtra Summon / reposition due to summon / flail.

    2. Diabolos. Nothing like a mob that can not only sleep you, but DoT you AND poison can't wake you up. Then not only that, draw in/move you around onto a floor piece that will drop while you're asleep.

    3. Kurrea. The different buffs he can do man make him either impossible to damage, heal himself by a huge amount or make him be able to kill people in 1-2 shots/spells.

I'm not including AV yet because it may be that everyone is just doing him wrong and when we are able to kill reliably it may not be bad at all. And the thing with Prudence is 3 things why people hate him. He teleports, triple attacks and when both shadows are up (depending on how you fight) double AoE Damage/Stun kills a lot of people fast. It's all managable, I would have included the broken JoP back when the 2nd shadow would just hide and despawn hidden or follow someone around and you had to kill with AoE spams on adds.

Yeah, I know. I try to convince them to go to Bhaflau Thickets instead, but for some reason they'll insist on Caedarva Mire.

There would be, say, 3 parties in thickets and 4 or 5 in mire, and they'd say "Let's go to mire, thickets is always too crowded."

It baffles me when people even make parties in these conditions.

I've tried every "correct time" to teleport to Kirin and been able to land in the pot room every single time... So what time do you think forces teleport to Kirin?

    Alastor Antlion and Hakutaku.

Starting off you normally have 15000 people lined up with pop items. Alastor Antlion can take forever to pop, then you have to wait another 15 minutes to do the next fight. Hakutaku is the same way, only the fight is easier, though generally 3-5 stupid people will get aggro and possibly die on the way to the ???.

That one week when they made the Hakutaku ??? repop 1 minute after its death was the best week ever (slight exaggeration). Instead of a 4 hour marathon to go through 5 fights, we did them all in one hour.
