You fucking fail if you macro warp and escape. Hit enter up enter and up and down and find the spell. In fact, I'd feel safe saying anyone who doesn't use the magic list for at least a few things is just silly. It's so much easier to enter, up, enter, up and down to stoneskin/blink, protectra, bar spells, reraises, than to macro them. Not to mention having a magic list allows you a much more informative list of spells which includes recast times.
I would like to introduce you to my good buddies Warlock's Chapeau+1, Duelist's Tabard, and Loquacious Earring. I put them on in my Warp and Escape Macros and I cast under 45%.
Is the AF1+1 hat faster than the NQ? I have a set of RDM materials and just never used them since I'm not sure if any RDM items are worth the upgrade (and subsequent hassle of requesting AF and -1 inventory).

As for macros, I guess warp and escape are ok for fastcast macros if you place them in a spot where you'll never accidentally hit them. Somewhere far out of your normal macro palette range.

Personally, I use 4 macro palettes. The first one is for debuffs, sleep, stun, aspir, drain, refresh, haste, etc. The second one is for nukes, pro/shell IV, convert, sneak, invisible, etc. The third is more or less unused.. I should get rid of it. With the exception of stoneskin, blink, phalanx which are on that palette. The 4th is my lolmelee solo RDM set that has everything I need for solo RDM/NIN melee in one palette and doesn't change my gear, with the exception of some fastcast utsu macros. There's a cure macro in the same spot on every palette.

As you can probably tell, most of my time is spent on the first palette, with some time in the second for stoneskin, blink and convert usually. What ends up being annoying is when I forget to switch to the first again. My refresh macro on the first palette is in the same spot as my sneak macro in the second. Same for haste and invisible. So it was fairly common while I was levelling to sneak and invisible people in the party, usually after converts or putting up stoneskin. Some might say it is still too common.

But my point is, don't place your warp and escape macros in similar spots on different palettes that you frequently use and you won't have a problem. Someone in my LS once had Sleep II and Waterga III macroed to the same spot on two macro palettes next to each other. They discovered a good reason not to do that, in Dragon's Aery.

Put Warp and Escape in a corner of the palette you usually have no reason to hit in any of the palettes you usually use. Or put them 4-5 palettes away (e.g. you normally use palette 4 and 5, put warp and escape in palette 9) and you will be fine.

I'm just glad that BRD spells come up near last in a sorted list (used to be exactly last until BLU). Very easy to find Chocobo Mazurka that way.

AF1+1 does not give any enhance on Fast Cast. It is the same as regular AF1 hat. But if you don't have a Duelist's Chapeau I would recommend getting it because it is at least slightly better than AF1. But I never realy had inventory problems and didnt use the AF locker much.

They are both exactly the same. I figured that since I had both of the items to upgrade, it would be the same as getting the +1 versions of two of the items. And once I get the +1 legs I can just store the original set of AF since I never use gloves or boots.

Nah, it's not. Body piece is definitely worth the upgrade though (MP+20, spell interrupt +2 and hMP+5 ...all good shit). Hat comes second because of the natural elemental skill and improved INT if you care to nuke at all. The other upgrades are pretty weak though.

When it comes to macros, I use only one palette for RDM, and it covers most of my RDM use.

    CTRL+1: Cure3
    CTRL+2: Cure4
    CTRL+3: Slow (1 or 2)
    CTRL+4: Paralyze (1 or 2)
    CTRL+5: Bind
    CTRL+6: Gravity
    CTRL+7: Silence
    CTRL+8: Stun
    CTRL+9: Sleep2
    CTRL+0: Gear reset macro.

    ALT+1: Refresh
    ALT+2: Haste
    ALT+3: Dispel
    ALT+4: Blink
    ALT+5: Stoneskin
    ALT+6: Phalanx
    ALT+7: Phalanx 2
    ALT+8: Blind
    ALT+9: Sleep1
    ALT+0: Convert + Cure4

All macros carry windower scripts that occur after the <st>'s have been carried out to accomodate for gear swaps (e.g. Marine M Gloves/Terra's Staff for Slow, Nashira Gages/Auster's Staff for Gravity, etc.).

Convert macro is set to <stpc> with default target on myself. Confirming the target initiates Convert, starts casting Cure4 on myself, and swaps to my Cure and Enmity Down gear all in one macro (in case I Divine Seal my own Convert).

Anyone saying JoPrudence isn't annoying obviously hasn't had a glitch pop where one is untargetable and proceeds to rape the majority of your alliance before you get it under control. Note that we're talking about annoying mobs here, not hard ones. P-Ultima is also fucking annoying just because it's TP moves are lame.

Temperance is annoying too, because of the pop conditions and the fact that it likes to stay the mode you have the least damage for at any given time.

JoP is tolerable. The glitch usually is resolved after the first hide. What USED to be annoying was when the 2nd shadow would hide and never re-appear. Took a long time to figure out he was following people while in hide, then the only way to kill was to spam -ga's on other mobs and have them hit JoP as well. This is fixed now, and he's not too bad anymore. It was always fun to spam -ga's on hempedes and all of a sudden see a BLM fall to the gound defeated by an invisible JoP.

JoP hid underground for us every time before, but we did two a few days ago and it didn't hide. We also went 0/2 on drops... along with 0/2 on Justice and 0/1 on Hope. Gotta fucking love sea... oh yeah.

The other day I beat Maat as THF75 and he hit me a grand total of two times with no Meds, and no Perfect Dodge (but yes Blink Band). At the end of the fight I was out 50 HP and he was calling me uncle. It's not that bad.

I'd like to put in my vote for Proto-Ultima... Armor Buster and Antimatter are two of the biggest pieces of BS in this game.

    Aroma fly/leech/crawler.

    Oh man.. 0/38.

You have to schedule time to fight it which usually ends up being when you're at work or asleep. When you kill it you gotta wait 30 min for the next spawn than run around looking for the ???.

Gugsen mines and Maze of Shakhrami are not too bad, but it takes over 10 min to check all three ???s in Ordelle's Caves.

If you have competition.. forget about it. They will pop the ??? and kill it when you're running around and you'll loose exact ToD.

Keep in mind this isn't really useful for a level 75 player.. a level 30 player trying to get this will have to deal with mass aggro and require help. Dying in Gusgen mines sucks since there are mobs that blood aggro all over the place.

I've only helped a friend about a dozen times but this thing definitely is annoying. Mostly the fact that he went 1/98 before we finally got his to drop. I'm just glad I wasn't there for all 98 >.>

Went 3/4 last night on ones that we didn't wipe to (wiped to one + NIN add [yay two swings + spell cast owning shadows/mages]). Guess who's codex was the one that didn't drop?
