Is the AF1+1 hat faster than the NQ? I have a set of RDM materials and just never used them since I'm not sure if any RDM items are worth the upgrade (and subsequent hassle of requesting AF and -1 inventory).Originally Posted by Septimus
As for macros, I guess warp and escape are ok for fastcast macros if you place them in a spot where you'll never accidentally hit them. Somewhere far out of your normal macro palette range.
Personally, I use 4 macro palettes. The first one is for debuffs, sleep, stun, aspir, drain, refresh, haste, etc. The second one is for nukes, pro/shell IV, convert, sneak, invisible, etc. The third is more or less unused.. I should get rid of it. With the exception of stoneskin, blink, phalanx which are on that palette. The 4th is my lolmelee solo RDM set that has everything I need for solo RDM/NIN melee in one palette and doesn't change my gear, with the exception of some fastcast utsu macros. There's a cure macro in the same spot on every palette.
As you can probably tell, most of my time is spent on the first palette, with some time in the second for stoneskin, blink and convert usually. What ends up being annoying is when I forget to switch to the first again. My refresh macro on the first palette is in the same spot as my sneak macro in the second. Same for haste and invisible. So it was fairly common while I was levelling to sneak and invisible people in the party, usually after converts or putting up stoneskin. Some might say it is still too common.![]()
But my point is, don't place your warp and escape macros in similar spots on different palettes that you frequently use and you won't have a problem. Someone in my LS once had Sleep II and Waterga III macroed to the same spot on two macro palettes next to each other. They discovered a good reason not to do that, in Dragon's Aery.
Put Warp and Escape in a corner of the palette you usually have no reason to hit in any of the palettes you usually use. Or put them 4-5 palettes away (e.g. you normally use palette 4 and 5, put warp and escape in palette 9) and you will be fine.
