I play on both, using KB only on both though.

Once you learn the KB you'll never use controller again.

This thread will probably only last til Sonomaa wakes up though, so enjoy it while it lasts.

After two years of PS2 I couldn't stand to play without my controller so I bought a PS2>>USB adapter for like $12 from Radioshack. It works pretty well, though there are subtle differences you'll only notice if you played the PS2 version frequently (like how you can hit the X-button to send a line of dialog you've typed). The only thing is you need to go into the FFXI config utility and change around the button mappings because they're switched around from the PS2 defaults. Sorry for the serious reply to a shitty, non-endgame thread.

This game is so inifinitely easy with 100% keyboard, can type, move, and macro without barely moving anything but your fingers.

FFXI keyboard is fucking horrible. Easily one of the worst things about the game. They designed it as an IRC channel and not a game, so all your important things like casting a spell, shooting, engageing or opening equipment windows and such require CTRL or ALT in front of it, all so that you can type text without having to hit a key first. On top of that theres lag hitting control or alt before the macro pallette will open as they try to capture alt-tab so you can't get out, and to play the dumb little window growing animation. Then you get other seriously flawed things like * key being both lock on and sit down.

At least they fixed the game crashing whenever you hit the windows start key. For months nearly every party I was in had at LEAST one person crash out because of that.
