Personally I'll hold judgement on this update until I see what purpose these have. Though I expect disappointment from the use of these items, honestly I don't see too much wrong with the update, continuation of assault/missions works for me.

There's already been some discussion of SE looking to Greek and Roman mythology with alot of ToAU additions. This one seems a little more historical based, but has similar Roman ties also.

On the subject of relying soley on shuriken for the majority of damage:

Unless SE does something with the current throwing system, the delay of the shuriken isn't the only delay involved. There's a wait period between throws that makes spamming shuriken past a certain level completely pointless. However, if those new shuriken are cheap, Sange might actually be viable. There's gotta be a good trade-off for getting nailed by a mob once you basically toss all your shadows at it.

I must've missed the "relying on only shurikens for dmg" statement. A very well eq. and merited NIN can take on most WAR w/o ridill / adaberk in XP without a problem, without using sange or shurikens.

What I'm excited about is bridging the gap, NIN will never be a 175 merit Ridill / adaberk / ada legs WAR. But we also don't have to settle for 3-4% behind them either.

Take advantage of what NIN has (Sange macro Racc + Ratt) NIN tekko +1 high AGI, and work from there. It's a step in the right direction, whether NINs choose to take advantage of it is up to them.

Except that if you want to consistently land your RA as a NIN you're going to want to swap in some R.ACC gear. I dunno about you, but I want to get healed from time to time, and blinking every second or three is going to get old fast, hehe.

And with 88 dmg, I don't think that they will do enough to keep up in the long run. Not to mention somewhat negating one of the largest advantages NIN has right now, in dual weild and haste bonuses.

I actually was on a pretty good ego trip with my NIN lately, outparsing WARs left and right, some with ridill and adaberk.

Took a WAR with pretty much full heca +1 for WS and armada gear to put me in my place in a hurry. The damage he did compared to other WARs was just insane.

The point being, even powerful jobs have room for improvement if you go looking for them. Underestimating sange and ranged attacks (not spamming but occasional) in my opinion is a mistake.

Edit: the party with him was also with a DRK with apocalypse, needless to say my ass was put in place like it was my job. Made me want to find new ways to up my NIN though.

A- throwing on a job that regularly uses sushi and has several +racc items that won't make you blink? You can choose whether or not you want to use tekko+1 or not, in the end it will only affect the damage of the shuriken, because you won't be missing much, either way.
Minuets will help damage etc etc.


But these will probably cost a fortune to get anyway, so meh
