Yeah he only sticks around long enough to cast whatever annoying -GA then he zooms up the stairs and poofs off the map. Like Ryko said, you don't need to beat him to win. Either go with lower tier spells for the shorter cast time or hope he gets caught in a -ga or something if you really want him dead. <.> (It may get you the win sooner, I don't know)

That sounds like a job for multi BLUs firing off disseverment and rip right away.

The best chance for a manaburn or regular pt to win the 1st BC is get a rdm/drk chainspell + stun the NM, right after the 3rd wave of the fomor(about 12 of them), the NM will 100% pops at that time. And have your DDs go all out on it. That could probably drop the NM during the chainspell.
Other than this, I still haven't figure out when or how will the NM spawn or how to stop it from despawn.
One other note is all the mobs in the same wave must be defeated in a short period, otherwise they will just keep spawn very fast after their death, and it will never move to the next wave. Correct me if i'm wrong on this.
Bind doesn't work but my rdm was kinda gimp.

Suprising enough, AoE weapon skills were the way to go. We were 2xmnk, whm, rdm, war, blm. Me (mnk) and the other mnk would just spinning attack to take out like 5 or 6 at a time, plus it kinda saved the mages a few times. We lost, but i think we were just a few minutes shy from the win...imps fucked us.

after tier1 you are forced to tier2? or can chose to do tier1 again?
also
you're done after tier3? maybe it's 3-5 days pause and then back with tier1?
