I believe he meant to say that it is an item, which alot of jobs can wear. SH can be equipped by more jobs than a Haubergeon, so I guess that was what he was alluding to~

I actually own one- they may be gimp, but they qualify for the "dressup" requirements for the ToAU storyline mission where you have the imperial audience,so I snagged one then. Other than that, I use the thing when farming stuff/skilling up weapons. That's about it, not an "melee RDM" in PT's or anything (ew).

Did the 1st part of the bc a few times today. Set up was WAR WAR MNK WHM DRK RDM/DRK. Our focus was to kill the NM rather then survive the waves. Did this by using the revitalizers to cs stun and melees go crazy. Worked somewhat, but not terribly efficient (probably better to just have tp ready and get 1 ws off each when it pops) and requires almost perfect timing. Anyway on around the 3rd time the imp nm popped we zerged it down and killed it. Celebrated because we assumed we had won and the next huge wave of mobs pops and owns us.

So does it even matter if the NM dies? I read Ryko's post saying they didnt kill the imp NM and won. Then I read LW's post and they said they won after killing NM midway through the waves.

Something just isn't adding up. Guess its time to just focus on the waves rather then the imp nm.

Speculation is that the NM will give the ??? Item, and the waves will give the treasure pool, since Ryko's group didnt kill the NM at all and only got 1 chest with no ???, and we killed Gekko on 1st and 3rd (I thought we killed him on 2, but Vyz said we got him to 12% and he never came back again), and on that run we only got a treasure box, not a ??? Box.

Any future groups or people who won mind telling us what you killed and what chest you got? In summary our theory :

Kill NM + Waves + Win BC : 2x Chest, 1 containing a ??? Dagger, 1 containing BCNM loot.

Kill waves only + Win BC : 1x Chest containing BCNM loot.

Did the standard enemies in the second BCNM hit hard? Did the NM in the first BCNM or the boss in the second or third BCNM hit hard? How hard did they hit melees?

in round one, the mobs hit me (a thief) for roughly 50-100 damage. In round 2+3, the harder mobs: marines/bosses hit for roughly 120-250 on me (thief)

Another question, it seems like in one of the original posts you get 3 rounds of the temp items. On our run i didnt even use mine because i assumed i should save them for later on in the bc. Do the temp items refill every 3 waves or so? If so how many times do they refill, 3? If you already have an unused temp item in your inv i assume you dont get that particular item refilled or get more than one of them right?

more than 3 waves, but yeah they refill several times....and if you have the item you wont get another of it

has anyone seen even semi decent drops in the first 2? or are all the goodies in the 3rd one? from what wafik posted people only have to clear the waves in the first one to advance, is there a reason to waste time trying to kill the dissapearing flying monkey if you can just clear the waves and advance?
