maybe ya shouldnt have used "movement enhancers"? lol

Once a red flag is on your account it's always on there. I have a warning on mine because I told a GM off one night and told him how worthless and pointless they are. He didn't take to kindly to that.
I actually know of someone that managed to get banned for 'just' the windower.
Here's how he did it.
1) Talked about it in jeuno in /say
2) When contacted by a GM he told off the GM and told them to stop bothering him about the windower, get a real job, or at least go after real cheaters or RMTs. (used colorful language)
3) Suspended
4) Upon end of suspention, he told off the GM that was supposed to let him out of jail with the same things that got him into jail to begin with (more colorful language)
5) Banned.
So it's techincally possible, but you have to try at it.
I also know someone that managed to successfully apeal a 'red mark' on their account.
Anyone who has a problem with this is retarded. Sure, maybe it doesn't solve RMT and their claim that using 3rd party programs help RMT is complete crap, but people need to stop bitching about SE stopping cheaters(oh, and lawl, innocents who swear they never touched the stuff).
Best of all, we know SE has been banning RMT banks around the cloak and yet people are surprised they didn't ban the farmers. Did you just start playing? Is this the first time you've seen a news update by SE?
friend got banned for paying for a friends acccount that used ffxi app, just linked him on the cc info and banned them both.. weeee
I think the sentiment is more born out of "I wish they banned the RMT" rather than "they shouldn't ban POS/flee cheaters". SE is weeding their garden by removing stray grass shoots, while ignoring the poisonous vines choking the life out of the flowers.
That's a pretty good analogy. I'd be a lot less pissed if they left 10 casual pos-ers and banned 1 hardcore RMT. And so on in that proportion. Even merely -140 RMT would make me pretty damn happy.SE is weeding their garden by removing stray grass shoots, while ignoring the poisonous vines choking the life out of the flowers.
So poetic. Reminds me of a Thoreau quote - "There are a thousand hacking at the branches of evil for every one at the root" (Or something similar)Originally Posted by aurik

This is so true. The ban strategy is pathetic. If it actually got rid of the problem RMT, it wouldn't be so bad. But the same 24x7 sky campers are still there. They could just eliminate the entire concept of "claiming" -- switch over to spawnables -- and never have to deal with another claimbot or monopoly issue ever again. Likely the pos/speed thing would be greatly reduced, too. If you don't need to race to fight to win, but can just wait and pop it when you're ready, why race at all?Originally Posted by Burginator
Despite it all, fear is a powerful weapon. This in its entirety has nothing to do with RMT in my eyes, so why even bring it up(outside the stupid claims SE makes about connections). This is about 3rd-party tools use. That's all. And it's effective enough to continue in my eyes. I already know many cheaters getting either banned or suspended. What makes me happy is the banning of dupe bots we are probably not hearing about.
the fact that it came this soon after the last one makes me think it was probably one of 2 things:
either
"lol hay gusy luk @ all teh banz wur doon sumthing rly!"
or...
"Just to let you guys know the task force is working... here's 1400 people banned by them and only them."
I think deflation hurts the economy.Originally Posted by Aodh

Sure stuff is cheaper now, but its getting harder and harder for an honest player to make any gil. Every single thing I did the first 2 years to make gil is worthless now and the more me and other people adapt to the few ways left the more competition there is for everything.
Well, look man, people still got to buy shit. You just need to learn how to adapt by undercutting strategically (i.e. not selling a 10k item for 1gil, but 9,701gil), and determining what people will buy, and what they will let rot on AH until prices fall even more. lurn2makegilzOriginally Posted by Devek

Why do people think inflation is bad? It's only bad if you hoard gil and/or don't play much. For everyone else it has no effect or a small positive effect.
Do people really not understand that deflation is much worse than inflation? There's too much gil leaving the game and not enough entering. This has nothing to do with RMT or AH prices. The amount of gil in the system is decreasing way too fast, and soon we'll be farming tiger fangs to enter dynamis.
Where is it leaving to?Originally Posted by Kerberoz
