The amount of gil in the system is decreasing way too fast, and soon we'll be farming tiger fangs to enter dynamis.
    Where is it leaving to?

Keep in mind you already it said it has nothing to do with RMT or AH Prices...

Take the average week of someone:

    1) 10-25k a week on outpost teleport/chocobo
    2) 100k from limbus
    3) 20-40k from dynamis
    4) 24-48k on sis kekabi, 20k echo drop
    5) AH fee (I would say 10-20k average, rarely put more)
    6) Doesnt concern me, but Vir subligar probably kill some money too

    How much I make

    1) 30k from xp/HNM
    2) 2k from vendor
    3) Mission 1-10x3 gave like 400k total, but it's not much when you divide that by the amount of week played
    4) Probably 1k a week from quest recently. I made 1.4m from quest 3 years ago, but I doubt anyone is doing that nowaday.

That's like -150k per week for me. I supose some people spend less, but in the end, there is definitively a lot more money out of this game than in. After they solved padded cap problem, I'm not sure why inflation kept going up. Might have been gil duping, or vendor bug, but I'm surprised IGE managed to hoard so much money.

Inflation/deflation isnt bad. Well, it is when you are saving money (and that's why deflation hurt irl), but in this game, most people just spend their money when they have it.

You need a balance. Atm, the game is close to being balanced. Items are dirt cheap, well items to get you by atleast. For the more expensive items, it can be difficult to obtain.

SE just needs to find a way for legic players to make a bit more money.

I'm waiting for the day that accounts start getting banned for things like... oh, I don't know... botting, in these triple-digit numbers.

    That would be nice.

"We ban-sticked 5,000 players who were caught using 3rd party programs in order to obtain claims of certain monsters. We're halfway through the A's. We'll get to the B's sometime before the servers die and FFXI goes to the MMO graveyard."

Balance will happen when it will be worthwhile to farm 30k/hour from quest/vendor (can you make more?)

I agree tho, they should increase the income, but it's pointless to do it until a good chunk of the money is gone

People aren't going to be happy until droves of gil are magically db'd to their moghouse on a regular basis and they're the only linkshell in DA.

No, people aren't going to be happy untill the source of the problem, of the RMT cockblocking areas is fixed.

Nobody cares about RMT mules, they care about being treated like 3rd class rats in comparison to gilsellers. Sorry, I dunno about you, but when a gilseller calls a GM and they pop 5 mins later and get your party jailed (last tiamat when I attempted to mpk them) in comparison to a reversed situation to when we call GM on gilsellers FLYING all over the place and nothing is done.

maybe the gilsellers hacked the GM system so their call gets put at the top of the call list and gets answered faster

True, but I can guarantee you that if the rmt get totally ousted, it will be a matter of days before people find something else gripe about constantly, heh.

Last night my LS cocked blocked GS @ SteamCleaner claimed Doll that detecter spawn and held it like 10-15 mins till they left to go to Ulli, about 2 detecters later SC pops XD. GS threating to call GM on us fro holding but they were holding Detecter too.

So I figured they didn't want to get temp. banned for holding detecter LOL.

That's because you're thinking of "I need to make 5 million Gil" when the reality is you need to make less.

SH dropped below 2 million on Ragnarok. It's been twice that if not more, IIRC.

The market will deflate until it gets to the point where farming/selling to NPCs is worth it.

That I can casually sit there and pull 200K off farming a level 20ish area (and by casually, I mean looping in circles and hitting a few low-level NM's + worms) in KRT tells me that you need to adjust or hold off on your "big" purchases until the market drops to near pre-RMT levels.

Since we are trading GS stories.

At sky GS claim Ulli, but that wasn't the bad part of it. They are DoT killing it. After 30 minutes, we call a GM, and another 15 minutes, nothing. Our BRD cures one of their guys and spams Mazuka(both of them). We get hate, but not claim... so we start trainning it to the entrance room and they are following, while we avoid aggro they are getting tons of it. Soon almost all of them are dead and we bring Ulli back with our claim, with only one add. Add is taken care of, then Ulli. Quite flawlessly. They spam 'GM blah blah" in our logs... so we leave laughing, but the BRD is a bit worried(his first MPK in the long time he has played). About 15 minutes, we are outside, moving somewhere (forget now) and a GM message is sent to me, as reponse from the first one an hour ago. "GM officies are closed for the day... blah blah, they won't be able to recieve messages, sorry for this inconvience!".

(Sorry for errors, I'm typing this on the run).

PS. I'm way more worried about item inflation then gil inflation/deflation. Within the next 2 years, I expect to see everything to be 1/4 the price they are now. Crafters will be dead.

On my server I've spotted a few items that aren't following the trend, that is, they are still the same price they were six months ago. RR hairpins are just one example. While SH's fall (mainly due to the knowledge of how to HQ them reliably finally penetrating to the alla-level crowd), Haubys are falling a lot slower, and I haven't noticed any difference at all in HQ staves' prices. Silk is way down... Basically what I'm getting at is that it's not an even, across-the-board deflation of everything, at least not where I play. If you're a crafty crafter (lol) then you should be able to locate the inconsistencies and profit.

How do you make money with gardening from vendor? Most I ever got was 30k for vendoring my harvest.

Staves arent going down because less people do gardening/digging I suppose, and demand is still high. RRpin went from 100k to 60k on my server, and demand is still as high, if not higher.

Anyway, every item follow their own rule because demand/production isn't always the same. There is exception for sure, but only because condition for those item have changed (less demand, new way to acquire item, alternative, someone controlling the market).

Weird, maybe it's item dependant, but I've noticed prices actually rising on a lot of things on Ifrit. Granted it isn't dramatically rising, but it's definitely headed upward. SH is pretty low however, around 2.5M or so if I remember. That's pretty much the exception to the rule though.

Of course, Ifrit is also on the top 5 out of all servers on FFXIAH, and the index is on the rise. I expect, based on AH activity, that prices will continue to climb.

It seems, at least on Ramuh, as if the e-peen gear is still falling, but the workaday gear and consumables have stabilised and in some cases have risen due to synthesis material prices.

Which makes sense really, as the e-peen gear was always the stuff that was most affected by the concentration of purchasing power caused by RMT.

i wouldn't necessarily say it was *caused* by RMT unless by "RMT" you're also including the people who buy in your definition. if that's the case, though, i agree.

it's not really the accumulation of gil by gilsellers that hurts economy. it's people buying it in bulk with no concept of its worth, overspending on a whim for the very same e-peen gear you mentioned (as well as eventually everything else), setting a new pricing precedent as well as introducing large sums of gil into circulation in a short timeframe that hurts economies.

if gilsellers didn't farm crap, somebody else would (and really, i'd rather it was somebody else doing it, for legit reasons, like farming for gear the way people did a few years ago in this game). the same amount of gil would be circulated over time. it's just it would be circulated in a steady flow and overall impact would be low.

gilbuyers have a manic impact on the economy, though, and i fault them more than anyone else. (though i suppose if you don't have anyone selling to them, they can't buy, so....)

    Leaves.

    Platinum, gold, etc.

Plat mostly, the others will sell on auction for more than vendor(usually).

And you gotta remember that every method of bringing gil into the game, they do en masse.
