Yeah.. it's not like he was POSing around the arena.
    qft.

Used that tp party thing, distance plugin which is a huge HUGE advantage. Windower macro program I think was in there too. And god only knows what else considering those.

You could easily do this without distance..........its not like distance is even that big a advantage over hardcore soloers.

Not being a hater or anything but I'm not too impressed. I downloaded the bune one and the bind/gravity thing has been done years ago. When they added the resist, it became a lot harder to do but since you're able to merit points into enfeebling etc then I guess it's because easier.

none the less, a big factor in pulling these things off are (beside not getting it stolen by gilsellers) keeping your cool. That I give you.

My issues is things like distance plugins makes people lazy. It helps make it not really a challenge when the programs are doing things for you. And therefore isn't impressive, at least to me.

My mention of tparty was only to point out that he uses more than just one plugin, which suggests to me he might be using other things not readily seen on the screen.

Of course, it's all opinion, the OP wanted to know what rdms thought of the vid. My opinion is it's not impressive considering he had outside programs helping him.

Tparty does nothing for the instance. Saying that it could mean hes using other more detrimental ones is a terrible argument, because if they had a largely visible effect, we would notice them. If we couldn't, they wouldn't matter in the outcome of the fight. In either case, with that argument you can say nothing Avesta does is impressive because he uses video capture which means he could be using other 'tools'!

Distance can make you lazy I guess, but it also gives no direct advantage a normal player can't have with practice. All distance helps a RDM with is knowing when to run, which can be achieved just as easily by actually watching where the mob is.

I guess the windower macros I can see your point on. Technically it gives you an advantage you can't obtain very easily without (would need a lot more macros and thus need to be able to move quicker to use them and get the same effect). The only problem is that the vast majority of people who don't use windower macros, also don't use more macros. They just swap in less gear. I would probably do the same thing if I didn't use windower macros, and I'm quite sure it wouldn't affect the fight at all, aside from making it 'seem' harder than it really can be (handicapping yourself to make it look more impressive).

With all that said, the video honestly wasn't that impressive still lol. The guy kept trying to put on ARB midfight, when all his macros would switch his neckpiece, and if he had succeeded in putting it up, he likely woulda been dead because of the long down-time after using it. There was no point to that. The rest of the fight looked fairly easy, as long as you are lucky enough not to die to 2hour like him.

I use the windower, and as far as I know, TParty comes already installed. Whenever I get the newest version, it's already there. You don't go looking for it, and it's helpful. If it's already there, why bother taking it out?

    On the other hand...

I see your point. TParty and Distance is extremely game breaking. It was through the use of these alone that this person was able to accomplish this feat. I know when I'm solo'ing something, it's very important that I see I have exactly 0 TP from switching staffs. And Distance! Oh my lord, the havok this causes when people use it. By having Distance loaded, you are stronger, better, and faster than before. Your skills and senses are improved, thereby helping you to Gravity/Bind/Nuke. Yes, I was shocked too.

    1. Point out in my post where I said tp party helped him and I'll retract my statement. My comment said he has plugins. Notice the "s" in that word. Someone said they only noticed one plugin. All I did was list the ones I saw.

    2. Added to that, I don't use any of those plugins including TPparty (omg yes windower can come without it). So correct me if I'm wrong, but he had something that gave the mobs health %, which as far as I know is through TPparty. You are probably going to say "big deal" So I'll probably ignore your comments on this one. But I'm sure many rdms can tell you at least after fighting maat a few times, it sucks having to eyeball a mob's health to know when it's ok to CS nuke till it's dead. He had a direct counter that made it much much easier to see how much his nukes were doing % wise. And would have made it much easier to see when he'd be able to CS nuke it to death. So in a way TPparty does give a soloing advantage, rather than your sarcastic version of switching staves. Especially in a timed fight where you'd want to do that as soon as you can to kill him in the timeframe given.

    3. And yes a distance plugin does help you bind/nuke more effectively. Can you bind/nuke without it? Of course. Does it make it so you don't have to focus on where you're standing as much? Absolutely. Is it an advantage over people who don't use it? Whether you like to ignore it or not, yes it does.

    4. Opinion is opinion is opinion. You can like or dislike it. Not care or care. But there's no reason why I have to like it just 'cause you do. :D

Part of that was going out to the person who said they hoped it was the job and not 3rd party software that made this possible. Unless you know of one which increases damage/decreases resistance/etc, I fail to see how any of those could have came into play. Was he warping across the screening? Or maybe running at flee speeds? Or perhaps hovering out of Fenrir's melee range.

I have a rdm and remember the way Maat used to be, even before they toned him down for rdms. I'm well aware you have to be able to tell if you can kill him or not with CS, as that was before I started getting the TParty enhanced versions I guess.

I guess I just don't see how some people can say Windower is ok, but use TParty and Distance and you went too far.

    Rofl.

Windower in general gives you an unfair advantage, because he can alt-tab out of ffxi and check an offline map of the arena while fenrir is bound, giving him access to superior kite routes!!

    Everyone is getting to comfortable.

Let me explain and don't scream "TParty omgz!" at me either.

People seem to care less and less about cheats and yes that is what they are. I may be biased since I play on PS2 and have to do everything old style. But you say distance plaug-in has no advantage whatso ever over anyone else. Screw that knowing you are at maximum distance is a very good advantage.

But it isn't just this it is how easily you all accept it as equal to someone who doesn't use anything extra. Even on these bored people seem to not care if people bot pull anymore it has become the normal thing to do and is accepted by a large number of the FFXI community as an "ok" thing to do.

Soon people will say speed hacking at 12% is a fine thing since you can do the same with w. legs. Who knows what the future holds, you probably say I am exaggerating but 2 years ago you would have said the same thing if I said all these plugins were one day going to be "just fine"

I actually do use more than 1 macro for gear swaps so the windower macros are an advantage over the normal game limits.

But I guess you are all right it was exactly what anyone else can do with tons of practice and an eagle eye for exact distances regardless of camera angle so whatever.....
