If there is no competition, why would you claim immediately? Thought the point of a holding party was to prevent others from claiming until you alliance got there. If there are no others, then why claim?

Well, with what they had (looks like PLD PLD RDM WHM BRD and some unidentified job with the HP/MP of either a PLD, DRK, or BLU) they could already be fighting and damaging it, probably 10% or so in the time it takes the rest of the LS gather. @_@

I once claimed with 6 or 7 while almost the rest of the online linkshell was in Salvage and we took it to 40% in about 50 minutes before anyone else arrived with I think PLD PLD RDM WHM BRD BLM. I think we had 1 DD job in the other party but I can't remember what it was.

I heard a story of PLD/NIN RDM/NIN WHM/BLM trioing it once, I heard it took 5 hours. Never had proof of it, but it seems pretty reasonable.

Also, ping-pong tanking is a very good way to stall it if you're got two people who understand the mechanics well. I once watched two RDM/NINs stall it for over 40 minutes without getting hit once.

Ping-pong low-man strategies work really, really well as long as what you're fighting doesn't have some massive wtfeverydie Flail-esque TP move. Its my personal favorite on Proto-Omega. Shame more people don't know how to do it(not that its really complicated).

If there's no competition there's no reason rush into claim. And yes, I realize that 6 people should have no problem holding it and even damaging it, but when your PLD uses so little Haste gear why risk it?

The last khim we did we claimed immediately as pld pld brd brd with no competition there at all. Held 20 minutes before more got there.

Haven't bee on in a while but,,,,one PLD was afk asleep, why claim with no competition and solo tank?

Also, you need haste out of the ass with haste spell/march/elegy amirite?

Dark Rider ran through my EXP the other day on Ranger, I saw Dark Esquires up on Wide Scan and was anticipating him, but dear god it was still awesome.

If you wanna hit the cap, then yah you do need a bit!... I've held it PLD/NIN + RDM/NIN onry, for 10-15 mins while other ppl showed up... Just be glad you're on the server your on ~__~

Did you not note the /rare/ free khim part? it's hardly a picnic to claim every other day.

My point was you don't /need/ a ton of haste sure it's nice but i apologise for not having full homam yet ^^ and my dog ate my turban

Sat there for around 10 minutes when some JPs got enough out there for a holding PT and eventually got him down. We killed Adamantoise with no competition for four days before and when Aspid popped, almost all of our LS was in Salvage. :/

RDM THF WAR wiped at 20%, I offered to jump in and help but apparently I might possibly steal an NM who's 100% drop I've had for over 2 years. Goes to show that trust is pretty much gone in this game. (Can't blame him)
