What's the deal with pitchforks? I don't even remembering getting them last year, but I have the HQ. Trying to get them for a friend... with no luck.
EDIT: nvm, they moved the set of balloons you need to use.
I've been trying to get the hat, but my costume wears out before I can finish the loop. I even start following the NPC immediately after getting my costume.
I failed the first time, I got the "You start hearing soft voices..." or whatever it says when you do it for the first time, but didn't realize you were supposed to move around it when it turns. lol
Only thing I found to be difficult was when the ghost would be surrounded by curious idiots who weren't even in costume that completely blocked me when it turned every time.
P.S. What are some comstume combinations that would earn me a NQ fork, I have the HQ from last year but I tossed my NQ a while back before it was storage-able and I like to collect bullshit items.
On a similar note, which NPCs in Sandy turn you into an orc?
zam actually has a good thread on this:Originally Posted by Khamsin

If in south sandy. Pourette turns you into an orc. if you equip your pitchfork, she'll turn sandy people into Goblins. And if in a party of 2 goblins, go to E-7 by the well, bomb lantern there gets you +1 fork.
I tried using Pitchfork in Mamool Assault about a month or 2 ago and it does NOT increase movespeed there. Tested by racing people with Heralds/Cuisses.
Stupid question. Will it work when you have "Frog" status? Or no simply because it's an ailment, not a costume?Originally Posted by Reaper-X
Wow.. so I tried the coven hat on and got +48 HP O_o. I suspect the latent isn't just your level, but also only works during halloween or a certain moonphase like the trick staff latent.
why? it's level.
It's level 1.Originally Posted by izembo

You use your brain, and realize it's called "Listening to the NPC's instructions" instead of "Having your hand held by BG".Originally Posted by LinktheDeme

I get that you're supposed to be wearing the paired item to get the other one, but what sort of restriction applies to sweets trading? (ie same more than once, one of each type per game day, different NPCs, stationary vs. mobile) ZAM was as helpful as a fork in the eye...
Edit: I realize this is mentioned in the link directly above my post, but I honestly don't believe it (as far as the old items goes)
According to the guide here http://ffxi.killvoid.com/forums.php?m=posts&q=137785
you can only get one reward/costume per type of sweet per game day.
When I was doing the Witch/Coven hat, it seemed to be a sweet type restriction, not just per NPC as I tried trading several of them Wizard cookies to get back in costume to no avail. Went over and bought some different cookie types and immediately got a Trick Staff II then another costume.
It's on POL's site... :XOriginally Posted by LinktheDeme
