Clearly, the # of times a THF dies during a battle increases the effect of Treasure Hunter.

It seems it was already stated this NM is not related to Besieged.

As for testings, i did not get in an exp PT since i got them, and i didn't fight a lot of things either. Spinning Dive missed twice in the whole day, once on the Tree boss in SW Apollyon and once on the Captain in the 3rd mission of the Ashu Talif, out of like maybe 50+ Dives today which is not bad for the accuracy loss everyone is talking about.

As for damage, kinda hard to be sure in a short time but it -seems- to improve Dives a little, at least i was almost always doing more than the SMN i was duoing with on IT Lamias. Rarely less than 1k, usually around 1100 on Nix Songstress and Merrow Typhoondancer. Blood Pact accuracy may be better now, but their damage is still too random to be sure in a short time.

When i get bored sometime tomorrow i'll try in Ronfaure just to see the damage improvement on single melee hits.

But since the accuracy isn't bad with them, i'd say every single bit of attack is never too much.

Funny story, so me, funkworkz, yokosaki, and sachmo were walking through arrapago reef tryin to figure out how to get to medusa when we saw this broad hangin around. we thought , meh, wtf, lets take her on!
    http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b3...g/img_0295.png
    As you can see from the above image, it didnt work too well. We figured out you cant sleep the avatar at all, so we kinda got smacked silly. ; ;
There was a JP exp pt there, dont ask me why... so I gave out a <teamup?> and they said ok. We healed and went back to work, Full Attack!!
    http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b3...g/img_0297.png
As you can see..... um.. we kinda had a problem ^^

    http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b3...g/img_0299.png
We recovered, and decided to go all out 2 hour on this bitch. We rush her a 3rd time. .... omg wtf charm!!!
    http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b3...g/img_0302.png
But we survived the charm long enough and barely killed it before it could tidal wave again. yes, multiple 2 hours, it did it 3 times in all, but we were kiting so didnt wipe a lot after the first. That gay avatar got me in the end at 1%, but whatever. Is there a happy ending?, no, check drops.

hate you SE, but lol, good times in Arrapago reef.

I have the world's worst sense of direction and am trying to find how to get out there, but also am not entirely sure I have the right map (though there seems to be only one with a J-6... she is near Medusa, yes?

From what I can tell, it's a long roundabout journey starting at Dvucca Isle SP?

Seriously, kill the avatar right away lol. It won't resummon till the main NM is really low HP.

I believe this is the path we took.. Was following someone and didn't get to really pay close attention.. Wasn't up so I'm just assuming this is where it pops from what i've read.

    edit - fixed path

I would really not advice killing the avatar at all. I tried a few times as 3 SMNs, one holding Leviathan (and pulling it back each time it goes to help the NM), the others on the Lamia.

So what i think i've learned is that Astral Flow seems to do nothing if Leviathan is up. Leviathan uses Blood Pacts on its own will and can use Tidal Wave multiple times, not depending on the NM using Astral Flow. What her Astral Flow does is instantly cast Leviathan and Tidal Wave if you kill it, just like most SMN NMs out there.

If you have BRDs and Barwatera, then you should survive and you could kill it to avoid Grand Fall or Spinning Dive spam. Spring Water does not heal the Lamia. Slowga has an extremely huge range.

If you don't have BRDs for Carol like my party when we killed it (SAM NIN WHM SMN SMN SMN), this is what we did. I was just putting Carby on Leviathan and using Meteorite every once in a while. As soon as its hate was on Carby, Retreat and run to pull it as far as possible. Usually it would Blood Pact and go back to help the Lamia, and i could pull it back again for the next Blood Pact to be cast only on my Carbuncle.

This worked wonders for helping my party avoid all of its attacks, well maybe for the first two-thirds of the fight but that's still a good time secured. After this, i just couldn't get hate back so i just sent my own Leviathan on the Lamia to damage it as fast as possible and we got lucky enough not to take a single Tidal Wave for that last third of the fight.

Lamie No.9 herself has around 12k HP i think, not a really big defense, and then can be taken down really fast.

    Hope that helps.

Edit for adding something : About the map on the previous post, i don't think you can go this way, the only path i found was by going to the Iron Gate at point "e" on the map, and getting out of the tunnel at point "f". Then you just go all the was to the east, the only IT mobs you'll have to go by are the 3 Lamias on the last boat just before the spot.

As 3x SMN, you shouldn't have to worry about Tidal Wave spam.

Can't you just put 3 Leviathans on the Lamie, BP, then get out of Tidal Wave range? Since it sounds like her Leviathan shares hate with the Lamie, it shouldn't be too hard to keep it off you and on your pets. Might have to Assault the Leviathan first before putting it on the Lamie, but sounds like there shound't be too much of a problem.

Four or five rounds of 3x Spinning Dives, while standing out of range of her own Leviathan's Tidal Waves?

Anyone get an estimated HP? SMN with Levi would only work if the HP is low enough to kill before they run out of MP, so it would dictate the meds/gear/brd/rdm/astral flow/number needed to kill.

I doubt 3 Levi's would be enough, SMN would run out of mp and if an elemental pops during the fight the SMN are screwed

Actually her Leviathan was aiming for one of us each time one of our avatars died, that's why we tried to hold it. So it managed to pull a BP on one of us sometimes when Carby missed him and didn't get his attention. Eventually that's a Tidal Wave we took and its range is VERY large.

We had it down to 30% when we wiped. Technically 3 SMNs could kill it with luck, but not reliably i think. That's with using Carby.

Three Dives do around 85% to her, each around 600 damage, that's why i estimate her HP to around 12k. So unless you bring a LOT of medicines spamming her with Lv70 Blood Pacts wouldn't work either, and there would still be that hate problem with Leviathan.

Oh, and maintenance just started, no repop yet after 51 hours.

Re: Lamie No. 9, in Arrapago Reef, drops Evoker's Gages

    just got my gages yesterday.

She seems to pop when undead swarm ist at lvl 5 or more... at least this theory worked with me, she popped once just after lvl 5, yesterday she popped after lvl 8.
As for the kill, we would kite her while killing the avatar, and then full attack on her during the 30-60 seconds where she is alone... worked pretty good.
