I remember when in one of my old LS..I was not at this Fafnir...a 75 BST got a Ridill....and he had 0 sword skill, he proceeded to sub WAR and skill it up during dynamis lol that made lots of people /frown

For me atleast, it wasn't the arguiing over the fact that a BST using accuracy gear + sushi hitting would be able to hit VT mobs. It was about the overall effectiveness against the alternatives. Assuming you are geared already for accuracy, since mobs are fairly easy to hit in ToAU merit places, you can eat meat and maintain a good accuracy rate.

If you are gearing towards Ridill offhand, you are going to be using the same accuracy gear (if not more) in addition to eating sushi. You are sacrificing offhand atk and the fairly sizable gain of eating meat for the additional attacks and tp gain. As Epigram stated, its more of losing a fairly large chunk of DoT. Probably around around 100+ atk. That for me isn't worth it. And just to clarify, I have partied with an at one point BST only player that had Ridill/Ebody/Kraken Club (but was lvling war).

If you have an A- or A+ weapon....accuracy gear and sushi is pretty lame.

If you have a gimp 200 skill weapon accuracy gear and sushi could be needed

I'm sorry, are you advocating using STR rings when using sushi? The only other switch I could see is going from a charm to a collar or torque of some kind, and doing so would still leave you above the +50 standard you arbitrarily put there in the first place. The rest of the shit has secondary stats or functions that are just as if not more beneficial to meleeing so I'll keep that rope loose for now.

TPing with STR rings (that aren't a rajas for the sake of lowering rounds to 100%) is as dumb as it comes, sorry.

Yep, /whm with sanction refresh, xp's pretty decent, if you get lucky with repops coming up T with your released EM pets, I've had my xp ring wear before my first piece of nq sushi, but it usually takes a little longer I have to go EM vs EM, or if i'm trying to pop crystal eater, trading crystals & what not. Of course, that's with xp bonus from sanction as well, so it's ideal if for those times when i only have an hour or so to do anything.

The only time i died down there was when i went with a still active bison steak on, CE actually popped on first trade, failed multiple charms on a swap, and he hits hard enough that it doesn't take long.

But hitting for 5's because of having no berserk, no attack gear (other than haub and adaman pieces) and your only source of attack coming from minuet4 (Assuming bards' doing March+Minuet). BST's aren't exactly renoun for their high attack, highest they could get to I think would be like 450, on the axe. The sword you're looking at like 300 lol.

They're running more attack than a PLD/NIN does with said gear, switching out the neckpiece (10 acc for 6.3 acc and 7 ATK) makes sense but switching out 14 accuracy for 10 STR (5 atk) is dumb as hell. That 5 attack wont be breaking any tiers

Depends what you gear yourself towards. You have a few options Wars do not get like

Assuming /nin (and not counting subhand)
450 atk would be sacrificing alot of acc or haste gear.

Ogre Mask+1 = +12 atk
vs Optical, Turban, Adaman

Ogre Feet+1 = +12 atk as well
vs Dusk, Adaman and Palw

And the other options people have such that are not really popular as Sword Belt+1, Byrnie +1, Dusk Legs, I guess you could argue Adaman Hands vs Dusk Gloves/otheraltenratives. And I there there's a +5atk ring.

Which is why you should invite your local merited, well equipped BST to merit for you nonoptimal we dont have enough War/Nin Ridill, BB MNK group once in a while.
