Demi-Fiend in Digital Devil Saga 1.. not the final fight but it is the hardest fight in any game of recent memory.

Yu Yevon was so lame.I don't even think it's possible to lose against him even if you tried. I never beat Kurt Zisa from KH1; Riku in Hollow Bastion and Sephiroth when he goes into Meteor/Omnislash mode were absolute bitches too.
I never got the Ultima Weapon either. ;[
maybe I'm really lame but the boss that always pissed me off the most was Dr. Robotnik in Sonic 2 >:O the one with the shooting spiky arm things

Isn't that the final boss in Crono Cross? What a pain in the ass to cast magic in the correct order for the "good" ending.Originally Posted by Jooeetheplatypus
It's been forever since I played FFII (us), like 12 years, but couldn't you just insta-kill Zeromus by throwing the Spoon?
Velius, at the end of Chapter 3 in FFT, is a tough fight. Anyone ever play Crystalis on the NES? Rosencrantz at the end of Vagrant Story. The Boss in MGS3...
I positively fucking despise any boss on any level of any Tenchu game. The combat engine is such shit in those games, and why can I Grand Master through an entire level but not stealth-kill the boss? WHY?????
Meh I never even bothered with the Phantom, I remember it didn't have any worthwhile reward and I had seen the fight before and it just looked like a huge pain in the ass, so I didn't bother.Originally Posted by z3r0c00l
Kurt Zisa on the other hand, I kicked his ass, well, it took me a while, but I did,.

The Alma fight in Ninja Gaiden (Xbox) was pretty badass. She has plenty of moves that can hurt so you have to keep your distance and pick your moments. The Doku fight was also badass in a different way, his throw move heals him and does massive damage to you. Ninja Gaiden had some great boss encounters, all of them were memorable and fairly difficult.
Worst: Final Boss fight @ Xenogears, way too easy, I mean ridiculously easy.
Sephiroth in KH2 was fun. Ports around and has a 2 stage move, the first takes you down to 1HP (throat stab style) then a flying power attack which you need to take a potion and then block or you die. You can be strong enough to beat the game but not stand a chance on Sephiroth.

Yeah, not to mention that it made absolutely no sense >_>;Originally Posted by SamanosukeShiva
I don't know why so many RPGs feel the need to do that. Hey, lets make the player fight some mysterious all-powerful being that they have never even heard of, yet in some way (which we won't ever explain) it was behind the entire plot of the game!
Parasite Eve could have been one of the best games ever released by square if they wouldn't have made it "shareware length" to beat the game. It had possibly the best cutscenes I have ever seen and the whole modern day RPG setting was a nice change of pace.Originally Posted by Kuropiko

qft, and I thought the KH1 Seph battle was harderOriginally Posted by Jeryhn
KH1 Seph was definitely harder. Sora's solo Trinity Limit turns KH2 Seph into a serious pussy.Originally Posted by Po
KH1 seph might be harder just because you have less control of sora in the first KH. In KH2 the fight with Sephiroth (as I did it) was a straight up sword fight. Most of that fight took place in the air where you'd end up juggling each other higher and higher with deflections and his teleporting >_> it was awesome. I didn't use any trinity limit and only cure magic.
It wasn't the WORST one. It makes *some* sense if you analyze the story more than should be necessary for any RPG, but still.Originally Posted by theo
My award goes to FF9's last (worst) boss. It's the only one where you can list it, describe what it is, and why it's there, and it's still not a spoiler.
Shame there isn't a thread for stupid plot developments. I could put half of FF8 in there.
Final Boss is easy. I've beaten the game without dying once, hardest stage/boss is probably the 5th stage (surviving) and the 6th boss.Originally Posted by shinobi_tabi
