    Breath of Fire 3: God
Just getting through the desert then navigating the end dungeoun, almost any mob just getting there was a freaking mini boss fight itself, the purple haired kid you fight right before God, cant remember his name ><;; that was a bitch too.

    FFVII: Sephiroth
Fight wasnt hard in the least, although that Super Nova move Sephiroth's 2nd form does wiped me a couple times >< lol, over all not hard but the music and the fight itself is just amazing. Id put Ruby Weapon as the hardest fight in the game though.

FF8: Dont even remember end boss's name now, but not hard, the one bitch i had that took me 8 tries, Omega weapon was definitly one of the hardest in any RPG i ever played, if you dont use the item that makes you invincible lol.

I always hated the fact that almost every end boss to a final fantasy was a pushover, yet there was that "optional" next to impossible boss fight that was always the hardest. Why not make the game hard to beat and make that one monster the end boss?

You know, as a kid I played so much contra I could beat it without extra lives most of the time. I never understood why people thought it was so hard... until I replayed it recently. I was dying left and right. People that grew up on the NES generation games just played them over and over and over until we memorized every pattern and enemy placement.

    Yeah, not to mention that it made absolutely no sense >_>;

I don't know why so many RPGs feel the need to do that. Hey, lets make the player fight some mysterious all-powerful being that they have never even heard of, yet in some way (which we won't ever explain) it was behind the entire plot of the game!
It wasn't the WORST one. It makes *some* sense if you analyze the story more than should be necessary for any RPG, but still.

My award goes to FF9's last (worst) boss. It's the only one where you can list it, describe what it is, and why it's there, and it's still not a spoiler.

Shame there isn't a thread for stupid plot developments. I could put half of FF8 in there.
    lol Time "Kompression."

First time I played FF8 I got to the very last form of Ultimecia and decided during the fight I really didn't give a shit about beating her. Shut the game off right then and didn't play it again for a year.

    Now it's my favorite. lol

The first Ghost and Goblin's is hard but doable. Play the SNES Super Ghouls and Ghost... Turn off your sissy emulator auto saves every frame too. After you have been thoroughly ravaged, hobble back to this thread and join us in defeat.

Ruby Weapon? Are you insane. You dont even have to be there to win this fight.

Equip Cloud (or whoever) with the following

    Ribbon (status effects nulled)
Knights of the Round linked with Hp absorb
    Hades Materia
    Master Counter linked with Mime
    W-summon Materia

Before fight, kill off other 2 members, so that Ruby can not use sandstorm and remove your juiced character from battle.

    The fight:

Doesnt matter who attacks first, Ruby cannot inflict status effects on you.

    When it is your turn:
    W-Summon Knights of the Round+Hades

    What happens:
Ruby always counters KoTR with Ultima....HOWEVER, since you did W-summon, you will get to use Hades before he counters. Hades wil do crap damage, and all of his status effects will be resisted...except Stop. Ruby will be stopped, and thus cancel out his Ultima.

    The rest of the fight:
Go have a sandwich, watch TV, whatever. You don't have to be present at all. When Ruby is no longer stopped, he will use a normal attack for about 700-1k dmg. You will counter with Mime..which is W-summon KoTR+Hades. KoTR will heal you to full, and Hades will begin the loop over again. After about 20-30 mins....you will win, without even being there.

The same general concept can be used for Emerald, however you need to be there for this fight as he cannot be stopped. Also, Airetam Storm does 1k dmg per materia equipped, so make sure no one has more than 9 (7 or less if you can).

When I fought ruby I was just engaging it to get killed then go to sleep. It ended up being a 1 hour 15 minute duel with Cloud vs Ruby lol.

    Needs more Trinity Limit.
qft, and I thought the KH1 Seph battle was harder
KH1 Seph was definitely harder. Sora's solo Trinity Limit turns KH2 Seph into a serious pussy.
This fight was, like, ridiculous. WAY easier than KH1 version, and I was about Lv60-70 when I beat this Sephiroth? And I still can't beat KH1 Sephiroth (I havn't tried in over a year though. xD)

What I did is stack up on the meds for when he does that gay HP/MP = 1 thing. I equiped that ability that makes you attack nonstop without using combo moves (I forget the name. Maybe Berserker?) I just basically smacked the bitch senseless, and when he teleported away... I did it again! Basically just did that, he went down in no time. I was dissapointed by how easy it was. Oh , and an easy way to not get hit by that 9420948 shadow ball move, just glide in a circle around the battle area until they all dissapear, they'll all miss you lol. xP

    Sephiroth in KH2 = Fail.

Ok, since this has ventured into talk of hard games, I present for your approval,

    Ultra games's NES TMNT game.

    or

    The NES Mission Impossible game.

Granted, I haven't played either of these since I was like 8 years old, but I remember them being hard as nails.

Wow....that is nuts, I always buffed up Cloud, killed off other 2 members, had Final Attack+Phoenix and really never could die, but was rather annoying only because would bring everyone back to life, so id have to keep killing them. But that strategy.........thats nuts, lol never thought of anything like that lol. Wish i had a file still saved where he wasnt beat yet cuz making me want to go do it lol.......

I hooked up an old SNES and beat that the other day :P It really isn't all that bad. It's typical memorization, really. If you know where all the chests are, you win.

Best bosses? I liked Kefka in FFVI, X-Death in FFV (2nd form), SBS-130 from Radiant Silvergun (Beat him without dying and without using the cheesey-ass weapon save mode on the Saturn version, and you have my respect.), Lezard from VP2 was pretty awesome, just the fact that he was totally insane for the last two fights, and some of the things he said in battle were crazy...

Worst bosses? Pretty much anything that is retardedly cheap.

One other annoying boss. The doohickey at the end of Beyond Good and Evil. Swapping the control directions might be an old trick but still sooooooo cheap when it's used.

I beat KH2 with my characters in the Lv40s (Almost 50 if I'm remembering right), then went to try Sephiroth and was easily and throughly trounced. Compared to the rest of the game, this battle was (as intended) disproportionately hard.
