    Ye Olde Garrison

    RoZ Content, lol.

But for real, did some level 50 cap Garrisons today in hope of some Dragon Killer earrings for our PLD (6m each on AH and they sell about as often as AH'd Kraken clubs).

I went in expecting hell, came out with a big smile on my face, we went 1/3 (2 in Kuzotz 1 in Xarc) with 6 person parties each time. Got Enhance Demon Killer earring to keep for tanks / main assists during dyn. Xarc.

The purpose of this thread? Does anyone out there actually do these on a regular basis? Or have strategies / setups that they use? We're going to start doing weekly runs with 18 instead of 6 cuz frankly its a wide open market and the earrings are just great for certain events.

Any info people have, bring it on, from lv 20 garrisons to lv 75, it's a fun piece of content that people really don't take advantage of to my knowledge, and my LS seems to have taken a liking to it.

I used to run a garrison linkshell awhile ago, good source of money. Our main strat was keeping NPCs alive, have one BRD tag a mob and kite it away from NPCs so mages and melees can cure up between waves. Try not to die? That's about it.

I used to think Gustaberg/Valkurm garrison was the shit.

It's actually pretty fun. Not that hard to gather, and it's pretty different from most fights in the game

I've only done the 20 cap ones though, just have smns hold a few and a few run off while the others pick them off one by one.

My LS did this weekly for a few months (30 cap, I think? In Bubu). It was tons of fun. We won nearly all the time (in months of doing it, I think we lost once) and no one ever died.

I could see it being hell with randoms, but with folks you trust and you know are skilled, it rocked.

We made good money off the runs, too. Mannequin parts fell like rain, guns worth hundreds of thousands, and lots of weapons to sell. XP scrolls were a nice bonus, too.

It's definitely one of the most fun/rewarding things people never do. As easy as it is to get them, those "killer" earrings should be 50k each and standard tank equip.

On Seraph there is a linkshell that does them all the time called Garrison Central.

Been doing weekly garrisons since Sept 2004.

They pretty much stayed in the low lvl garrisons (lvl 30s and 50s) until recently, just started doing the uncapped Vollbow Garrison.

    I agree with this statement.

6 person Garrison 50 cap (cant speak for the lower caps) but are actuallly kind of challenging.

But from what I've read they're WAY easier with 18.

Has anyone done the 50 or higher cap ones? We're thinking of doing some 75 caps too.

I got a Bunny Fang Sack in Kuftal PT a while back, should put it to use, Terrigan Garrison sounds like a lot a fun.

I wasn't even aware that there were 75cap ones. I did a few 20 cap ones back when I was only lvl 20 and didn't enjoy them that much. However, a 75 cap could be pretty fun, and a nice challange.

There's only 1 75 cap garrison, that's where the mighty weapons + rai kunimitsu drop from.

Just farmed up another B. Leather Missive, might try 18 person tonight after sea, not sure yet XD

Some people from LS and I did Vollbow like last month, did 2 runs, 11 ppl, it was quite easy, and we got Mighty Lance(lol) and a Mighty Tulwar.
Along with like 5-6 Mannequin parts

Did the terrigan run a while back with 6 people , it was pretty easy, the hardest part was probably the goblin links
(And you get to kill a goblin pirate)

Did the Cape Terrigan one once. Was about 5 Runs and all with 11 to 13 people. All Melee subbed WHM to help keeping the NPC alive. It was kinda laggy, but overall quite easy. From what I heard, you get better drops when more NPC stay alive.

We got 2 or 3 Mighty Bow, a Rai, 2 GS, 1 H2H and a crap load of Mannequin pieces. Was easy money.

I used to do garrisons as a weekly event with a sister ls of my social ls. They ran it as a dual event with Eco Warrior quest from sandy. We'd take turns plowing down to the mob and then smn burn it for a quick win. Then we'd gather at the garrison and go from there. We did them for probably close to two years before people finally started losing interest only a few months ago. We did weekly 30cap usually in Valkurm since the gobbies dropping the bombs tended to speed things up. And then we'd do a 50cap every couple months as well. Either Altep or Xarcabard. I also used to do 20cap garrisons with my social ls on occasion.

As for strategy, one of the members composed a huge strategy document detailed how we used to do the 30 and 50 cap garrisons. Unfortunately, I can't find it right now since they recently upgraded forums and its not in the stickies anymore. I'll keep poking around and see if I can find it though.

I did write the bard portion of the job specific roles, so I can definitely offer some insight to that. I won't go into huge detail since its all in that document and I'd rather just find it rather than re-type it all hehe.

One main thing we did to "cheat" the 20/50 caps was holding a mob from each wave to prevent the next wave from coming before we had a chance to heal up. No need to do this on 30 cap gobbies since they blow themselves up so we tend to just bring a few more healers specifically watching the npcs. But for Altep, I used to duo the sleep-kiter job with a rdm or blm since those ants love to resist lullaby. And in Xarcabard I could easily do it myself, since demons sleep like babies to lullaby. As soon as the wave pops, basically grab any mob and kite far enough away from the outpost, that the npc won't agro it and attack it. Then you just sit there and sleep it until the rest of the alliance has killed the other mobs, and then rested up MP to full or very close to it. Then come running back to the outpost with the mob and it should drop pretty quickly with an alliance of npc and pcs killing it. Then prepare for the next wave. This is very important on the later waves since they get harder each wave. If you miss a mob on the first wave its not a big deal.

I'll keep poking around for that document rather than continue to ramble on ...

i used to do 20 cap garrisons a while ago.. my social was pretty successful in doing it and we mostly did it for fun, while some people got neat things like mannaquin parts or exp scrolls

last garrison i did was the uncapped in vollbow (maybe 2 years ago? lol ).. to our surprise it was actually really easy with 18 people, and im sure in an average LS now, they could decimate it even easier

main goal in garrison is keeping the NPC's alive.. the more you keep alive, the more rewards you get..... the mobs are easy enough to kill so you dont really have to worry about those

rewards are decent, but in this case fun > rewards
