Epical: It shows up in Rabanstre's shop later. Teleport back every now and then to check it out (provided you kept your stones), and yes, it's a Drain-HP sword.Originally Posted by Sonomaa

This is my setup for targetting:Originally Posted by Sonomaa

arty leader's target.
That way when there are multiple mobs, if they target anyone in the pt, my leader will attack one and everyone will attack it until it's dead, then move on to the next mob targeting the pt. That keeps them from running around attacking anything too.
Also... question: Could you theoretically farm LP and get every square on the board for every character (excluding one time use squares) or is there some sort of limit? If so I wouldn't worry about doing it wrong, just get what you like and think is best... and eventually pick up whatever you left off when you have extra LP.
yes, you can unlock every board piece except the 1 time use ones
Nah, you could theoretically do it, but it takes like 13k LP to do it.
edit: beat to it -.-
a good steal gambit Ive found is this
steal @ 100%
then have another person, preferably with ranged attack do hp:100% = attack
that way your person steals at 100% then somebody else comes along and shoots that target, your stealer moves onto the next one if there are multiple, and your shooter ticks thier HPs down below 100% with another attack, so you have several mobs not at 100% and then the next gambit in cycle is to attack party leaders target, voila, the killing can commence
this setup works great, thanks!Originally Posted by Almaa
Man... I still had them left over in my inventory from the escape from that N_____ jail, so I used them all on Gihn, and wow, they're good dmg. O_O Spammable, they do anywhere from 100-400 dmg (had one do 393, but as low as 96ish). They're nice for bosses or for links, or wherever you need extra damage fast.Originally Posted by Toralyn
Weird question but, you can pop the NMs after killing them once? Like I just stole a 46dmg dagger from a NM wolf in eastern with a pt of lvl11s and ran but I want to know if I can pop again once I kill it to steal more.
I refuse to leave this mine untill I get my killer bow back... might be here a while, level 16, time for sleepcat
Yeah don't worry too much about making bad decisions on LP points. Soon you'll have the chance to buy the Double LP item, making it so that every enemy you kill doubles the LP you recieve from it.
I just got a killer bow on my way out from my 3rd attempt at Rocktoise in the mine (it's aspid, I swear to god)
From what I've read everyone has just basically been making TP burn XP pt setups carry over to FFXII, which kinda made me lol.
What I've done with Ashe so far is basically dominate the lower left side of magic category on LP (MP cost down, MAB+, MP+ when dmg, MP+ when do dmg) and I have her in Wizards shit + staff, and my gambits for her are basically chain nuking and curing when she needs to.
It's interesting and damage / speed ratio's are comparitive to Vaan / Basch beating things up, but what I really like about it is that when vaan cures someone with Cure 1 its like 140 HP, when Ashe does it in al MAB+ gear its for lke 250+ which is VERY useful if you wanna do harder hunts early (im 18-19 lv and still a bit too low for Aspid trio, leveling up more now)
I'd like to hear from people later in the game if magic gets the boot (typical relation would be FF7, you level up to tier 3 BLM materia and its wicked powerful, but by the end of the game if you think about casting Fire III you're a fucking idiot)
Would be nice to have a dedicated BLM/SMN and make Penelo WHM/RDM
I got some ?'s I need answering
I have Vaan,Fran,Bal, and Basch as my PT
(there @ the westersand divide) lvl14-15
How do I get new gear seriously, I have sold off all my merchandise
Anything drops I sell to get better stuff from shops
But nothing appears =/
Second what mine are people talking about grinding?
I lvl'ed up on wolves till 8 (solo), Penelo + Vaan (12) on random Ulthrix, and now the 4 man pt running rampant in the Western sands owning everything (not letting go of my guest Basche yet, he's really helpful)
Ugh seriously I think I have fucked up in this game quickly by not bying the guide ; ;
Oh wells
Any help would be appreciated
Magic and Physical dmg both have their importance in this game. Physical dmg will be better then magical for regular enemies by far until you get tier 3 AoE spells, and even then if you're able to get your hands on some of the strongest weapons in the game early on its still a bit better. (For instance me getting the Strongest gun from a Mine pretty early into the game, talking lvl 40s)Originally Posted by SathFenrir
But reason I say they both have importance in this game is because a lot of bosses later in the game have Physical and Magical dmg shields, so having a good resource of both is good or your fucked
Good to hear I'm goin the smart path then XD
I've got a question about quickenings, nothing spoiler-ish but I tend to fuck up on the simplest things...
I've been reading about how quickening combo's are the shit and all that, but my quickenings do like 700 dmg, 2500 in a 2 person combo (lv 16-18) and in the 4 seconds I have to either A) watch the scene or B) try to figure out if im supposed to go FFVIII style and R1 spam to pump it up (squall) i kinda end up just getting really confused.
Sometimes I spam R2 button, sometimes I just watch CGI, damage stays the same it seems, what am I doing wrong? ;;
don't spam R2, just tap it till you get a PT member's name in white then press respective button
for all you ppl trying to make sense of the foe gambits, i'll post a good set for pretty much everyone
1. Ally: Any -> Phoenix Down (no it won't make them spam phoenix downs on anyone)
2. Ally: HP less than 60% -> Cura/Curaja (make it 40% or 50% for the melees with white magic for backup)
3. Ally: Any -> Esuna (when you get it)
4. Foe: Party leader's target -> Attack (put this one even on your leader to make him stick with it)
5. Foe: Nearest visible -> Attack (put this for everyone too, your non-leader members will just switch to #4 while leader changes target)
that's pretty much the basic set that will take you really far into the game
hope it helps ^^

I don't know if it's because I got my second quickening with her, but Penelo's MP just quadrupled almost...
Does quickening increase MP?
Helpoemer pretty much covered it. When you go into Quickinings, depending on how many "mist charges" you have, you can use a buncha Quickenings in a row. The names of the people with Quickenings unlocked are going to be in either white, or grey. If they are all in grey, press R2 until 1 is white. With only 4 seconds, its a little tricky.
But yeah, if you chain so many quickinings in a row, you get a burst of some sort. Theres a list of all the types of bursts you can get, but all I can remember at this point is that with 3 chained Quickinings, you get the first basic burst.
Edit, yeah, more quickinings = more MP. Not counting unlocking the first one
I'm still adjusting to the whole Quickening thing. I can chain them fine when everyone has the MP for one. But, I can't seem to link them and get a Quickening for free even when the MP has been used on a regular basis. Not really using the gambits yet on a detailed level. Overall the game is fun, and i'm 9hours into the game and enjoying it. Too many things "borrowed" from FFXI tho lol.
