Weird question but, you can pop the NMs after killing them once? Like I just stole a 46dmg dagger from a NM wolf in eastern with a pt of lvl11s and ran but I want to know if I can pop again once I kill it to steal more.

I have this exact same question - can you repop NMs? (and which wolf was that? Which zone?...I could use a 46 dmg dagger)

It's really good. I actually just stole another one and killed the NM this time with 15 party.

Enter from Rabanastre's Westgate to Westersand. In this area get a high chain of kills on the wolf and enter the area to the SW(I did it a few times with a chain of 10 or so and it worked). If its not there try to chain some more and reenter. Try stealing from it with full pt but let healer, well heal. I got it at 11 and vaan was hitting for 250-270. It hit things weak to aero for 2x that as well. I don't know if you can kill more then once but I left later after I got my first and tried poping again after it despawned and stole another for my other chars. Hope that helps. Gonna see if I can spawn it again after I killed it.

Edit: Just gave my new one to Basch... wow talk about being over powered for being able to get this at level 10ish.

Sonoma, I LOVE Fran. Her and Balthier and my absolute favorite characters after Penelo by faaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrr. I always try to use Fran in my parties, I think she owns so much.

I like fran, my main party so far has been balthier, basch, and fran. On a related note are guns really that good, I gave balthier a pole and he seems to be doing much more damage then he was with a gun especially because he combo's so often.

I hardly ever combo, anyone know if there is a reason for that? I almost never see it happen on normal mobs but it happens once in a blue moon. I've gotten as high as 4 hits, but only like twice total and only a few 2-3 hit ones.

I need to go NM hunting I guess >.> I also never steal, I'm thinking I should fix that.

Quick item question:

Random exp mobs wherever you go drop stones, magicite, bat fangs, wolf pelts, etc., etc.,

Should we sell all of that? Or later on is there a synthesis store that needs 85932529358029582 pieces of earth magicite and 58903458230952 wind stones?

Hahaha thanks Vixy, I got that Gladius. Holy shit does it own at level 12. That NM is mean, he whooped the shit out of my "Guest". I think...I might have to zone and repop it...and steal again...and zone and repop it and steal again.

Still, if you kill an NM, can you repop it? Or only this steal/zone/repop/steal thing? Anyone know?

I like fran, my main party so far has been balthier, basch, and fran. On a related note are guns really that good, I gave balthier a pole and he seems to be doing much more damage then he was with a gun especially because he combo's so often.

The way I have him set up @24 with best available gun + wyrmfire Shot balthier was doing 1k+ to toads and turtles in Giza (Wadi weather) and around 600 to mobs who weren't weak to fire. His crits are 1hit KOs. Downside is the lack of combos. With light armor and swiftness he isn't as slow as he was at the start though.

Guns also ignore target defense which is nice. He currently does more physical dmg than all my other characters who are all the same//one level apart from him.

so i decided to restart cause i figured there were somet things i wanted different, and i should restart beforei get to far (was only just getting to sky city).

How hard does the lindbur wolf hit for, im lvl 4, almost 5 right now about to kill thextera but while getting a high chain on wolves beforehand i popped the NM wolf. What are my chances of survival for stealing then running away before it kills me with 200 hp and the first armor?

Also, any chance we could start an NM compilation in addition to this wolf, i've only seen like 3 NM's. A pugil in the water ways, a marlboro king in the water way's, this wolf and i think one more that i can't remember. By compilation i mean where, how to pop, drop, steal. I haven't seen any websites with much more than a walkthrough with spoilers which i don't want.

It starts with a 300 or so dmg small aoe around it. Could get screwed on the stealing. Took me about 10 or so steals to get first time and about 2 or 3 the 2nd time. Was only able to get at 11 cause it was busy killing guest and other 2 people and I hardly made it out alive.

lol just saw this thread cuz i never really look at the sticky ones...

too lazy to go through all the pages but have there been people crying about the bullshit requirement for the easy way to obtain the strongest lance yet? XD

remember when i found out of it and was like wtf it actually needs you to NOT open treasure pots?


edit: oh yah, why are you guys using crapy weapons? there are monsters at every point of the game that can drop real advanced weapons that can last for like 15 lvls... like at lv10ish you can use quickening combos to kill those two wolfmen on giza plains which can drop a attack+50 katana that basically can two shot any normal monster you can come across til you are like lv25 or something

and having played ff11 i thought we'd all gotten patient enough to tolerate the low drop rate farming sessions XD

how many chains did you all need for the wolf, i just watched him spawn on my chain 20, same spot as the first time i saw him.

I think most people didnt really know about all the non-hunt based NMs and what they dropped till recently, and i havent really seen a compilation of them myself.

Compilation of NMs, what is stolen/dropped.

Only problem is it's Japanese translation, so most of the NM names are wrong. Somewhat useful though.

Yep. And I killed like 15 of those lvl 20 wolfmen and they didn't drop any katanas.
