a really wierd fishing thing i guess?

Where do you go to do that.

the dad you rescue in estersand sitting on the dock talks about wanting to fish, then you gotta go get a rod and bring it back to him, i can't remember the place where you get the rod at. the fishing is wierd because he fishes and you call out what the fish is to him by pressing a certain button combination as it scrolls across the screen. getting 5 perfect rounds on a stream unlocks the next up to the 3rd, then you have to do something special to get the last 2.

Just beat it, took 68 hours over nine days, one thing I wonder, in the ending artwork if that one pic was cid, or balthier holding the baby. Had glasses but the face looked alot like balthier o.O;

since most of those pictures seem to be the heroes as kids I assumed that was cid holding baby balthier

Ah. On another note, watchin the final CS I was hoping you could continue with the rest of the game and possibly have new character appearances, from seeing penelo and basch ; ;

so I was wandering around the mines, came up on tiamat accidently and proceeded to rape him like lbelle on a drugged penelo. level 30 characters for all 6, 2 deathbringers, no quickenings. hardly any healing, he looked pretty spiffy.

going to cap quickenings I think now and get the rest of the ability stuff, just got haste (yayyyy) and things are going well.
how far am I into the game, feels like I still have a lot to go for

The story opens up soon, and after the next dungeon (Stilshrine) the mission takes shape, you've got a while to go but it's good :O

Tiamat was the first boss I got to decoy tank

how do I get King Behemoth to spawn? and what level is recomended for fighting him?

ok I killed all the mobs in the north and south areas, and im looking for him in the south area but I cant seem to find him. I guess its a combination of the mist and the fact my radar doesnt work.

zone a few times, he popped in the south part for me

got him to pop alright and he is friggen insane. He was hitting Basch for 3k-6k per hit at lvl 72..... thats way to much for me to handle, I lasted about 5 minutes before restarting my ps2 because I knew I wouldnt win at that rate.

It was pretty easy at 74 but required fairly heavy cure spam from my tank. I kept one character mainly just attacking with one dd/mage and ashe just spamming cures on herself. It got to the point where Fran had so much mp and ashe was so low I just cast Syphon on fran to refill ashe. I kept the characters in a triangle around BK's head so they could cast on each other and only ashe would be hit by aoe/breath. With all the casting I did on ashe she only got 3 attack turns the whole time, oddly one of them was a 5 hit combo lol.

Has anyone else noticed that these higher monsters don't seem to be blockable by shield? Hell wyrm, BK, and Fafnir never got blocked once. I went through 4 yiazmat lifebars without blocking a single attack too. I put on Ensanguined shield and a measure and it capped evasion at 100 and I still got hit by yiaz every time.

Would a Decoy -> Reverse gambit not work well on KB? Obviously someone else would have to cast it, but that way the tank doesn't take any damage and whoever is doing damage would just be sitting there swinging there for X amount of time.

You could but reverse seems to last a very short time. Tank could cast it on himself too (I'm probably misunderstanding you). The other problem is that reverse can miss. Seems easier to just meat tank most of this crap :x but that's just my style, it's ffxi pld crap. Haste+Inquisitor is enough mp refresh if your pt scores combos sometimes, you just need to balance the mp expenditure between your guys in what fashion you see fit.
