I doubt the GMs would have anything to do with this. A couple DBAs running queries might (eventually) pass the info along to GMs for enforcement but your average CSR isn't going to be doing the actual analysis.

Most people will continue to use windower, as it has a lot of useful tools that enhance gameplay, without cheating. Tools such as:
TParty: Can see the TP of other party members. This one should be an obvious way to avoid the annoying calls that people will have.
Distance: Useful for pulling at max distance (24.9, iirc) for those of us without shadows. Good way to Gauge the "Sweet Spot", and not just for ranged attacks. You ever play Bard or Corsair where people just wont line up like they should? Using Distance, I can hit the BLU in my Static with Evokers, and not hit the poor PUP unless he is not paying attention.
Windowed Mode: So I can look stuff up online such as recipes.
The ability to use a Dual Head setup: Fairly Fragging Obvious.
Once SE incorporates such items into their UI, I think people will not have a need to use such 3rd party tools.
Says montior the account, not montior the computer it is on.. Most likely it is because of:monitor the use of your PlayOnline account
4.2 Restrictions
Going to watch for people paying for powerleveling, and maybe start watching for groups af 10-18 accounts all logging in from the same IP (I know, thats possible to be done and not RMT, but it is a very good indicator).(b) rent, lease, loan, sell, sublicense, distribute, transmit or otherwise transfer the Software, your User or other account-related information (including, but not limited to, your User ID or password information) to any third party;
Thats actually aginst the TOSWhat if 2 people share accounts from different locations? :3
I think those enhancements you stated are considered cheating too.Originally Posted by mastergara
some people i know play in Cafes, doesnt that mean they share the same IP? i dont think its a violation to play in cafes or even playing in a big network (possibly at home)Going to watch for people paying for powerleveling, and maybe start watching for groups af 10-18 accounts all logging in from the same IP (I know, thats possible to be done and not RMT, but it is a very good indicator).
also, friends of mine suffered a ban because of multiple accounts on 1Credit Card.

its actually only against the tos if one is not a dependent or child or something of the likes of the other, thereby allowing an adult to pay for an account that their child can play, but the adult is still allowed to monitor their character or whatever. I don't remember where in the tos but its in there.Originally Posted by souleman

PlayOnline Service may be temporary suspended in whole or in part without notice due to routine maintenance, emergency repairs, fire, flood, explosion, war, strike, embargo, governmental action or failure to act, the act of any civil or military authority, act of God
lol... they are really covering themselves... lol
Want to know why this will probably ban more window users than RMT?
1. SE doesn't even know who the RMT are or to even know what to look for, I could see the standard gilseller party of 2 nin (both elvaan 85% of the time) a THF(mithra), WHM(taru), RDM(Hume Female) and BLM(Taru). This is the most standard set up on my server while there is another which is Galka PLD, BLM(taru),BLM(taru), RDM(Hume female), WHM(taru), BRD(Hume Male) these are Common gilseller parties on carbuncle though there are different set ups.
2. on my server it would seem RMT only get banned for warping or flee tool(I suppose they do catch some RMT redhanded for selling gil every blue moon).
The only way SE is going to stop gilsellers on their game is getting off their asses and start looking at the patterns they follow then making a list to track where the gil goes which all starts @ places like serket, roc, KA and all of sky.
How does any of this mean that they will ban more Windower users specifically?Originally Posted by Lordender
Of course. Because playing more effeciently is cheating. Gotcha.Originally Posted by Firas_Gattz
As for the Dual Head on my system, I fail to see how my using second monitor on my desktop is against their TOS. Care to find where it says that is illegal? :D
Act of god is just a term used to describe natural violent catastrophies. Basically things you can't prevent like earthquake and storms. Basically if something catastrophic hits Japan like a Godzilla attack, they don't have to keep the service up for people. It's mostly in insurance (check your homeowner's policy).Originally Posted by Jakune

Heh, I don't really care about the plugins... If SE put in a windowed mode I'd drop the windower like an old hat. I haven't put the thousands of dollars into a PC/monitor/sound for gaming just so that when I play ffxi it turns it into a glorified PS2, minus the ability to look up items.
There's a whole list of things not gameplay related that they need to fix with their client first before they start adding more clutter to the screen (especially on the ps2, there's enough crap there already).
Heya Devek. Worked on PHP lately? And Leviathan is just how you left it.Originally Posted by Devek

I just read the thread but not trying to cause any problems but everyone cries about SE doing nothing about the people who cheat, RMT, bot, etc. But the moment they try to implement something to help track down these cheaters, everyone whines about it. We all know SE likes to throw threats around.
Think SE could monitor old cybersex logs now? This could be bad.Originally Posted by mastergara
it could help out!
examples follows:
sexy mithra 8: damn that was good! i want more!
me: k, geez, i ran out of things to say/do ;/
GM<Dave>: /em takes off his Gm armor...and says 3some!
Most 'secure' sites I know dont hold logs for longer then 90-180 days. At the rate of 2+gig per day on a thousand user site for standard traffic logging, I think SE has much better things to do then archive logs past a certain point. Simply is not economical.Originally Posted by Devek
So I think you.... errrr.... other nameless Blonde Humes.... are safe for now. There may be much more interesting things in the logs for them.
Oh and I forgot to mention something else that people may consider "Cheating": Macros that are longer then 6 lines. If I have to carry around all that bloody gear, you are sure I am going to get the most out of it.
Why does the most important post in a thread generally get completely overlooked while people ramble on about useless, obvious stuff?
Is there a startpol.exe or not.
Yeah.. aight. Aight, I put on my weskit and petasos.Originally Posted by mastergara
