Large companies have lawyers on salary. There is no waste of money/time in having them revise a tiny piece of contract because of an afterthought or whatever it may be that sparked this.

i would say no. takes too much effort on their part to actively pursue violations. usually when a company changes a contract it is only to defend themselves even more. what makes this even more clear to me is they changed the sentences above the line that says "You agree to indemnify and hold SEI harmless from and against any losses or damages sustained by SEI...blah blah blah"

bascially covering their asses even more in the few bannings they've actually done. i dont' expect to see any change in their stance to not go after rmt/cheaters until their product is losing money, or on the verge. and clearly they aren't in any danger yet.

I remember when they changed the ToS and said monopolization was now against ToS.

The problem was in how they defined Monopolizing. Someone in my LS had the discussion with a GM on this and they said unless the person claimed the NM to be theirs and were trying to tell you to leave, OR they were preventing you from gaining access (he said a line of Galka) then they weren't "Monopolizing" just camping. This change they can say, you've been here for 3 weeks, no one stays in one place 24/7 for 3 weeks, so we THINK you're up to something and we can band you for it.

Most people will continue to use windower, as it has a lot of useful tools that enhance gameplay, without cheating. Tools such as:

Distance: Useful for pulling at max distance (24.9, iirc) for those of us without shadows. Good way to Gauge the "Sweet Spot", and not just for ranged attacks. You ever play Bard or Corsair where people just wont line up like they should? Using Distance, I can hit the BLU in my Static with Evokers, and not hit the poor PUP unless he is not paying attention.

YA RLY! No cheating. So you, having a distance plugin have no advantage about me without a plugin? YA RLY! No cheating when I have to run to claim a Padfoot, then stop, then trying to cast Flash getting the message "target out of range" while you can stop exactly at the maximum distance claiming the mob. YA RLY! No cheating.

Another thought about monitoring: This might open SE's path for sting operations. At last, they are allowed to sell or buy gil from IGE, because it's their property. And now they may monitor the contact person who delivers/receives the warez.

They are really going to shoot them self’s in the foot if they start banning for Windower. It will have repercussions that extend far outside of just the Windower users. LSs that get a lot of members banned will fall apart and if many of my friends disappeared I wouldn't really have a reason to play anymore.

See my posts near the end. Seemed to be working totaly fine for me yesterday after I made the changes to my router. It will probably start happening again though. lol

Believe it or not I am reasonably certain not all of SE is stupid....

They don't ban RMT cause they keep a certain amount of player base playing, cause they won't play if they can't buy gils...and the RMT pay for their accounts....

They won't ban people for windower.....cause they most likely realize about half their paying customers use it.....seeing as how people using windower is an extremely higher number than those that are RMT accounts (which they ban occasionally for other TS violations, NOT being RMT such as flee tool, pos hax, mpk... well except the gil banks)....they would effectively end FFXI by banning people using windower...fuck PS2 its a bane to this game, all the limitations etc...but why do they keep it? Cause lots of JPs use PS2. -.-, and if they tried to force people to change they would lose customers

I absolutely agree, the game can be so much better without the ps2 factor pulling it back <___< I wonder if they even surveyed in Japan how many old school players moved to newer platforms. If they are serious enough to play the game since 2002, it's not hard for them to progress with the game advancements.
