If Tparty is a cheat.. so is ventrillo/teamspeak and inviting friends over to your house to play next to you.

Sorry but whether it "hurts someone" or "hurts the game" is all up to subjective definition. Does it change things WITHIN the game to enable options, abilities, or information that you dont have access without said tools? That's the only question to ask.Originally Posted by shieldsofwindurst
Parsers arent cheating... If a parser is cheating, so is Fraps. Those tools dont change the game in any way. They simply record information that S-E gives you access to.
S-E OBVIOUSLY doesn't see something like fraps as cheating because the fan festival's video contest could only be achieved with a tool like fraps.
Last I checked, Teamspeak/Ventrillo is not third party software that has any involvement with the FFXI application. That point is moot.Originally Posted by Devek

Hey miokomioko,
You parse information, right?
Teamspeak is a third party program that gives you an unfair advantage over people who play on ps2.Originally Posted by miokomioko

Pen

Highschool mathematics.

Yes and so does your cellphone. S-E should send letters to T-mobile and Cingular to get them to stop their nefarious antics.
Logic {Do you need it?}
No, it does not.Originally Posted by Devek

Not Trap, just curious. Am truly interested as to why you are so adamant.
Many good arguements brought forth in this, and as many equally silly arguments.
Can anyone point me to the section in the EULA that states 3rd party programs are against the TOS? Much appreciated.
Parsers don't have to intereact directly with FFXI. You can just look at the log files being generated by FFXI. That can even be done by another computer if those files are remote mounted.

I think what's causing disagreements and miscommunication here is that people's definition of "cheating" are definitely not consistant.
For me, making a game easier through use of anything outside of the content of the game that others don't have resonably fair access to as well = cheating.
Like we see here, some people think [cheating = hurting other people], or [cheating = making things unreasonably easier], or even as far as [cheating = altering the game code itself].
For me, it's extremely black&white, cut&dry, or whatever phrase you use.
Or the expression I used early, as Myopic. You only see as what you want to see. :DOriginally Posted by miokomioko
per your definition:
"Unreasonably easier" is the only one that can even remotely apply to plugins that dont alter the game code itself, nor hurt other people, and even then, tis not a free pass to 75 on all jobs with all the leet gear.Originally Posted by Miokomioko

See? Now all those who view these forums or read this post now have easy access to this. I am working to advertise such during the superbowl halftime to cover everyone else. Yay for doing my part to help other people! :D
Awesome... now how do I install it on my Xbox 360?Originally Posted by mastergara
