I blew the IS on a Chaotic Earring a couple weeks ago. I don't know what triggers the latent yet, but I know what doesn't trigger it:

- Chaos Roll, or any Phantom Roll.
- Any song.
- DRK in PT.
- Sub DRK.
- In Besieged.
- In beastmen stronghold.
- Nighttime (18:00-5:59).
- Daytime (6:00-17:59).

Haven't tried using it in Assault yet, or on main Job DRK since it's only lv.1

Chaos theory is about undefinable patterns right?
Therefore would it be too shocking if there's no obvious way of activating latent? Perhaps the conditions change randomly? Maybe one day it's yellow hp, the next drk sub, the next red hp, and so on?

Shuemue I don't think chaos theory has much to do with it just because there is another earring from the same IM rank, priestly earring, but no counterpart of a priestly theory where everything not random at all.. Or at least I would not assume as much until everything else hasn't worked, or it works one day and then it doesn't anymore.

Shuemue I don't think chaos theory has much to do with it just because there is another earring from the same IM rank, priestly earring, but no counterpart of a priestly theory where everything not random at all.. Or at least I would not assume as much until everything else hasn't worked, or it works one day and then it doesn't anymore.

You're probably right that I'm wrong, it was just something that popped into my head pre-coffee :D SE seems to be liking obscure latents these days, perhaps it needs a certain weapon type equipped, gsword or scythe?

My Dark Knight hit Lv69 today so I decided to pick up a chaotic earring to see if I could figure out the latent. I equipped the earring and didn't get the attack+ which eliminates the DRK main theory. Next I started using Job abilities. Started with Souleater and got no latent. Then I tried Last Resort and got no latent. Last I tried was Arcane Circle and bam latent active. So the earring has been solved. It only triggers if Arcane Circle is active. Latent also works if a PT member uses Arcane Circle.

All in all, this item pretty much blows. It can only be worn for 30-60 sec every 10 min.
