Depends on the party. My agency charges like 350 for a four hour party (communion, birthday, graduation, etc.) but if it's someone going through me directly I cut throat the prices.
For a four hour or so party, at a house or hall or whatever, we could talk about a range of 150 to 200, depending on what you want me to do (lighting, contests, etc.). Less if I know you or you supply me with free food and beer
All things considered, lets say you just want me to simply spin music at your party for like four hours or so at your house. I could work with you and would charge roughly 100 bucks for that.
Why? Walmart approach. Im slowwwwwly breaking off from my agency and running yellow page ads, and DJing for myself. Quanity of gigs versus profitability of gigs. I'd rather have a full schedule than a fat wallet and no gigs in the foreseeable future.
Same with the recording studio business. I only charge 15 an hour, free set up and mic'ing time. That's VERY affordable considering the quality of my equipment and product I deliver the client. Again - more people, more money.
One thing I might wanna upgrade is my phone. You can see my phone number in that one picture on the banner. I use the same cell for personal use as well as business (coors light and DJing). It'd be alot more professional to get a dedicated line with an answering machine catered to the business. Oh well, one step at a time. I just bought a house and have about...0 bucks for extra expenses.
