Diabolos Pole vs Dark/Pluto's Staff

If you are BLM main and you're meritting anything other than Elemental Skill, I don't understand that at all.

Maybe if i merit something else i might get to play another job endgame?

I have BLM RDM and BLU(66) i honestly think simply fully meriting Elemental Magic would be kinda silly.... nothing in all hoensty really resists BLMs that bad with my full elemental set and if they do i bet you 10 extra skills will do sweet FA for it.

And yes Aurik what planet is Genome from been wondering for a while <.<

I always bought into the pluto's > diabolos pole argument myself, until I saw this. With Pluto's staff and triple conditions, the highest possible non-MBed aspir should be capped at 186 MP, the fact that this is 193 indicates that either diabolos pole increases it by a factor greater than 15%, allows you to break the cap similar to stone gorget with stoneskin, or both.

What about the MAB gear? I've never seen anything that would prove that MAB would help drain/aspir, so I never bothered. Someone that actively stacks it might have stumbled onto something.

MAB and your opponent's MDB appears to have no effect on drain/aspir.

Stacking MAB was an from a friend and I, we figured "it couldn't hurt" Then we found our drain/aspir being a notch above normal. It was not something that was tested, but I have a feeling it needs to be.

I don't get your joke. I don't think 100-200k is a big deal for a BLM 75, you can definitely afford to have both. Then again my point was that prices seem to have skyrocketed on HQ dark staves.

Pluto was never 100-200k on my server as far as i have played dude (and Alex is the cheapest server by far)! and i been on FFXI 1.5 years now. maybe when FFXI was first released in the US <.<

Ah I see. On my server I think there were people who had big time gardening operations (I remember a guy who had multiple accounts and the maximum number of mules on each just to garden on all, something like 50 gardening mules). I think they must have flooded the market with dark ores and staves (for skillups i guess) a few times, so much that even HQ ones went down to very cheap several times.

Even FFXIAH, which only recorded relatively recent AH history (and doesn't even consider sandy AH or bazaars) still shows prices as low as 200k on my server.

That datapoint is an anomoly (someone got caught undercutting). HQ dark staff has never been 200k on Asura.

yeah and subbing /whm for chiblast meant you had such a Manapool (and MP usage) to require to buy a Dark staff.for HMP... no no a HQ dark staff that has no impact on HMP comapred to NQ....

Pluto staff is for /SMN, for free diabolos, fenrir and cheap dark elemental. That's mostly for fun but it also has a few uses (e.g. including recent assaults). Dark staff is one less free mp perpetuation, with today's prices I would just go with that.

Awoir is easily manipulated into thinking whatever makes the biggest drama. Nobody stole Osode, and the story of the NIN was even more wrong, that was just made up, I passed on a lot of haidates back in the days despite having the most points from putting more work in sky farming, but we did have a rule at the time where if you just joined for less than a couple of weeks you had to wait and couldn't just lot and go into negative points, because we had people who just would get a drop and leave the LS right after. No osode or haidate was even controversial until about 8 months after I got them when I had to tell someone with a pearlsack to keep it to tells because he was basically fueling drama in lschat during a dynamis run, after which he just figured he could void points and all the things he really owed me and just break it off that way, pretty dishonest behavior, but on top of that he also wanted a free osode. Needless to say that guy is on my blacklist. There's still several people I talk to from that LS but there's also several people from there I now know better than to trust.
I even saw how greedy and easily manipulated some people became, when they were promised they would get a free osode if I gave mine away instead of them having to work for it like everyone should. The thing is as much as I think those people's behavior is just petty and quite disgusting, I don't waste my time going and complaining about it years after the fact.
