    Laptop Battery Problems

    Ok my laptop battery has always been an asshole but this just takes the cake. I used to have a problem where it would drain from 100% -> 6% really fast but then stay at 6% for a while. That's not really a problem. However recently it drains fast and stops at 4%. I had the threshold at 5% so it would shutdown. But even that isn't the real problem.

    What my battery is doing now is whenever I unplug my laptop the battery instantly drops to 4% and goes into hibernation. What the fuck? Anyone have any advice that isn't just buying a new battery cause I'm broke and this one isn't too bad except for these problems.

    How old is your laptop, does it have that patch that fixes XP/Laptop battery issues?

    Check your power settings in control panel and make sure things are set right.

    Other than that, I dunno, how old is it? most batterys after a year die off fast.
