I used to do this months ago and it was an ok way to make gil but the demand for silver ingots on Valefor was pretty low too. Something I did when I got bored. I still have over 51 tarutaru stools on a mule.

Anyone that's got enough time to produce 19 stacks of ingots or more in about 12 hours seems shady ya think?
I personally bought over 20 stacks from the AH with this same fucker listing them on the AH cause the price was so low (~17k a stack). The price spiked a little but the supply they have seems inexhaustable since my name scrolled off even ffxiah's history in less than a fully day.

Apparently we've got some anons in yughott fishing shit up 24/7 cause there's noone sitting at the gs guilds or ring shops busting crystals there.

Even with desynthing someone that can produce 50+ stacks of ingots in less than 2 days is shady as fuck don't you think?
Why does fishing even let you get rusty stuff when fatigued?

You can still make 50-100% profit with those prices by desynthing rings bought from an NPC. Is it possible that he does that? Or do you actually see him fishing everyday? Cuz if he really is fishbotting silver rings everyday then someone needs to tell him how to better use his fishbot.

If it's a fishbotter-desynth-synth trio, the rings are part of the profit, not all of it. He's pulling a few thousand Gil per pick and a chunk of Gil off any caps he HQ's too.

This assumes it isn't someone loading up on earrings/rings at the shop and taking them back to a less laggy area to desynth. I hate doing any crafting outside my Mog House in Jeuno.

Pure speculation, and all depending on the demand for ingots at that time, but undercutting to make all sales is how they operate.

Please note that the fishing isn't an exploit. The synthing and desynthing isn't an exploit. The 24/7 fishbotting is the exploit, and it's what's causing the problem.

I wasn't sure if this was due to the "sky" gilselling crew moving to Sea, or if it was an effort to stockpile more gil before the big sale. Anyone notice any similar patterns of dumping product?

Hmmm... Here's hoping for some more currency mule nuking.

It was demon horns, and it was 20 stacks when at most you'd see 1-2 stacks at a time a week before.

The big dump already happened for Angel Skins (1m->400k), Damascene (1.2m->700k), et cetera. The RMT crews in sky are desperately trying to get rid of ulli stones, bazaaring them for 4m and would probably sell for 2-3 if you haggled.

They suddenly decided they wanted a lot more gil, for some reason. We can only speculate as to why, but IGE suddenly dropping gil prices (indicating a glut of supply) is a clue.

I just took a look, and they're out of stock on almost all servers. I reckon they're dumping product so they can restock.

As to why they need to restock, I'm hoping some of the mules just got banned. That would be nice.

This is only a guess but you think it might be possible they are dumping items and gil due to massive bannings? When gil is high and no one buys they lose huge amounts of money during bannings when mules get killed and items are lost. This way they can at least recover the gil quickly and try to unload it at low prices before SE catches them. Who cares if your mules banned if you sold its 300 mil the day before.

Rare item flooding is always nice for what it does to the gear of the average player but as a crafter it really kills a lot of my profit synths. I've been relegated to silk and wool cloth synths and like aurik said one its the equivalent of working at McDonalds

I was curious so I compared server prices of gil and my server is the most expensive, over $30 for 1mil. Some servers are half as expensive as Carbuncle.

It would be nice if SE added more recipes for materials that are just building up. Especially to materials that make useless item to begin with (CoP). There isn't much a demand for a lot of crap, that's a big reason why prices are dropping.

Nothing worse than trying to sell something at break-even only to see the source mat cost drop in half. Even retaining the same gil count nowadays is a win. Sell aggressively and craft cautiously.
