can you post an extreme closeup of those countertops, I'd like to get a better idea of the color, unfortunatly digital pictures do distort color quite a lot, but, it's close enough to get the idea. and it's not uncommon to bring a drawer in when your seeking color help, I've had people bring in whole doors, bedding, couch pillows everything.
also what colors are the adjoining rooms, or are you planning to paint them?
I love brown bedrooms, I just moved but my last bedroom was very dark brown.
wow...whole doors? rofl. Anywho...
My living room is tan, from the living room is a long hall, which is also painted tan. At the end of the hall is the kitchen. I planned on painting the top tone of the kitchen the same tan as the living room/hall. From the kitchen, you go upstairs to the bedroom, which is now brown. Ill snapsot the counters tomorrow, really fucking sleepy at the moment >.<
Heres closest i could find on @home depot website. Kinda small, but almost identical (Far right picture)

top three weirdest
one lady wanted me to match her dog.
one lady asked my friend to match a bag of blood.
and number one, one lady asked my friend to match her panties (not the ones she was wearing lol)
EDIT: So it's more yellow green, not so much blue, and definatly not forest?
Slate flooring = yay, and slate has so much green in it can go with the counter tops. Slate is expensive though, but I can't think of anything I like for floors more.
And personally I think redwood cabinets go so good with green counter tops if you have a dark earthy color on the walls, something like dark umber or burnt ocher..
I am an architectural design major, so I have taken interior design, so I'm not just talking out my ass![]()
Ya, I'm from Kentucky myself, it's hilarious, my father has a 4,000 square foot house in Kentucky that he got for $130,000 and it has a fully finished basement and 2 acres and when I moved to Atlanta I got a much smaller 2-bedroom house and it cost me $230,000, and of course I'm practically on top of my neighbor. Oh well, it's brand new and very nice so I guess I can't complain.
You guys are right, though, once you buy a house, "This old house" becomes your favorite show and you really become interested in this sort of thing.
I took the easy route.....and married an interior designer!
If you want to do laminate wood floors, I would suggest Quickstep. Its a little more expensive than the other brands, and usually you have to order it for large rooms...but it is well worth it. I have 0 skill when it comes to home improvement, but my wife and I were able to easily lay a new floor in our living room/dining room in a single weekend. It looks damn good too. No glue or special tools needed. The pieces snap together like legos. And if you put in a piece and its not centered, it snaps back out just as easy as it snapped in. They have a wide variety of colors and patterns, so you should be able to find what you are looking for to match your counters and cabinets.
Also, lol at the people at Lowes, etc. They are retards when it comes to this stuff.
Ironically enough, i had a sample mailed to me. It was a quickstep floor.

less that $1.50 a square foot is fucking win. Thing im confused about, is that it requires no glue? So is it what they call a "Floating floor". I hear those expand and contract and could cause problems. Any truth behind this?
