Last night was a bonanza for multiple Dynamis shells on Seraph. Our shell had record drop rates in Beaucedine, another shell had record drop rates in Qufim.
I did a /check of the weather, moon phase, etc. Nothing was really that extraordinary about the moon phase (waxing crescent) or the days (darksday to firesday.) Both our shells only had two TH4s. But the date, in Vanadiel time, was December 21st-24th during the hours we were inside the zone.
It got me thinking . . . I wouldn't put it past Square Enix to encode better drop rates all around during the "holiday" season. Ever since I heard about the Vanadiel "seasons" (and verified em myself), it's been lurking in the back of my mind.
The other "holiday" drop rates could possibly occur during times like Golden week, or perhaps correspond to the equinoxes. (Our drop rates were awesome at the start, then dropped to mediocre, then picked up again to awesome near the end. Winter solstice and Christmas Eve, anyone?)
I'm going to start tracking Vanadiel dates during our Dynamis runs, and see if there's any further evidence of this.
