I have Walahra and 1% haste is not a big enough deal. I'd rather have the STR and DEX of Askar. I have Dusk. I don't full time them. Slow%, they equip on engage. I'd love Aurum, they're not in my reach right now. Don't need ACC rings. I don't miss enough to warrant it. If I do, I use sushi and problem solved. DRG is not my main job. So my ASA legs are better used elsewhere. 6-hit build? I don't have the desire as I want to work more on getting things like Askar Body, Homom legs and feet. And aurum feet if I'm lucky. I don't have an endgame LS. Right now its just a group of friends doing what we can and getting what comes with it. But again, as DRG is not my main job, I have put forth more efforts into that. DRG is just a fun, hey, this dropped, my DRG can use it, no one else needs it, okay I'll take it kind of job. Right now my only effort with DRG is working on the OaT Weapon. How a question about that turned into gear criticism, I have no idea. I don't even have /SAM lvl'd for 6hit.

The def was actually a bit useful, since my dnc is only 18. With turban i couldn't quite keep up with the damage i was taking, but with askar i could cure a bit more than i was taking. I actually switched between them depending on how much hp i had. And actually i only had 17% haste with askar, and adding one more is only like 1.1% more damage. Between fstr+1, and 3 atk, they're actually pretty close.

edit: bah, my fstr was actually capped on the lower level ones. Still got me from 17->18 on the 65 birds, which is like 1.5% more melee damage (1.5% more total damage, since i didn't ws at all) on level 65 birds, and .6% more on the others, from the 3 atk. Obviously turban is better, but not OMG ASKAR SUCKS. And while def may not be the most useful thing ever, it's not useless either.

I read Allakazham and generally don't hate the place like a lot of people do. I don't generally pay much attention when people are being dumb but this one really baffled me because I had never ever seen anyone make this comparison before:

I'll never be able to say that the FFXI economy is healthy. Those that say it is certainly won't tell what it is they make cash off of truthfully as it realistically risks the health of their markets. Assuming they aren't exploiting NPCs, AI, or borderline legal-RMTing mass gardening mules just because they happen to have more RL money to throw around.

She basically claims that gardening mules is the same as RMTing money because you're paying real life money for the mule characters. She went on to argue this point with several posters and due to my severe bafflement with her point I can no longer continue pointing out her stupidity.
