oh good god rofl
What I learned from that thread is that Eve can be killed for lunar abyssite and you don't have to kill Abyssic Cluster to pop Ironclad Pulverizer.
Fuck.Go ask the SAM forum what they think about Askar body and let me know the answer. Hauby+1 is 6 STR 6 DEX 16.5 Attack 16.5 Accuracy, you might as well just eat Carbonara for +6 sTP then downgrade to Askar.
And this is why people in game dismiss the boards so easily. I know 5-hit is possible, but without usukane body / feet it requires you do stupid sh!t like Askar body / E.ring and a then get bunch of abyssea gear. "Standard" players won't have the ability to acquire all that in a short period of time. 5-hit is a desirably goal but requires lots of time and investment to obtain. Thus its high end and far from "standard". 6-hit + high haste can be obtained easily and is what you will see for a long time coming. I expect 5-hits to be "standard" after next update when the required gear becomes more easily obtainable. Seriously did you suggest using "ace's" feet as standard? Something that drops of the new HNM abyssea boss's?My mind has been utterly blown.Go ask the SAM forum what they think about Askar body and let me know the answer. Hauby+1 is 6 STR 6 DEX 16.5 Attack 16.5 Accuracy, you might as well just eat Carbonara for +6 sTP then downgrade to Askar. And again you just assumed double atma, it is the minority who have two lunar abbysites. Heck you assumed the STR+50 atma which is amazingly rare amongst the general population. Ace's sabatons drop off of Itzpapalotl and it definitely is a HNM status. It can one shot PLDs with shell V and barfira has all standard moth moves along with its annoying fire attack and it requires three key items all from previous NM's to pop.
The argument is around the use of the world "standard". Your either trolling or have a very warped idea what is expected of the average SAM. A standard is a model of something that is taken as the minimum required to be acceptable. What you described is not standard its above standard. Anyone capable of obtaining that kind of gear would also have the resources to obtain Usakane and other salvage gear.
Did I? Dang. Oh well. :s
Edit: Nevermind, found it.![]()
What I've learned is that there are some fucking sexy buffs to be had. I'll have to look into this shit when I play again.
I haven't logged on since a few weeks prior to Scar's release, so I'm still sitting pretty at 80.
I probably won't have time to log in until the last Abyssea expansion is released, at this rate. Of course, it's Abyssea; it's not like I'll need more than a day or two to catch up to everyone else.
So according to the second person, cheating means you take this game seriously and working hard for items means you're casual. So by that logic, the people that take their schoolwork most seriously are cheaters?
Lonix has a lot of nonsense in that thread.

I was just about to post a link to that thread, thank you for beating me to it Rog
While there's a whole lot of stupid in that thread, the people who use cure bots in this way are even stupider. Made me laugh.About a month or so ago I was in an Abyssea party where we think one of the Whm was using a cure-bot. He was asked several times in both English and Japanese to stop curing the Blm's and Brd out of yellow HP for latent trigger. After being asked about 10 times without a response the leader kicked him from the pt. For the next 120 mins the guy stood in the same spot but kept healing everyone until he finally ran out of time and was ejected from Abyssea.
This is the first one of those thread I've read the whole way through ... and holy fucking shitballs, they even go into the "U CN GET HAXED BY WINDOWER" tinfoil hat arguments. Holy fuck.
Thank you for that read, Rog, was a good way to pass time during class. Public Administration is boring. It's sad how the few people in that thread who made logical sense got bashed down by the "OMGYOUCHEAT" mobs. But that's to be expected, I suppose.
Mind. Blown.APRadar isn't cheating? lol... it's funny how the game maker puts these rules out for the game, and everyone just ignores them and draws their own line in the sand, saying "I'll cross SE's line, but not this one."
I'll be the first to admit I'm no different. I use Windower so I don't lose my 2nd monitor for wiki-browsing and such, and Distance plugin to gauge distance from target, something SE obviously never wanted you to do. However, my line is drawn much closer to SE's. I don't even use Windower macros or Spellcast, let alone stuff like flee/pos-hacking. That someone thinks APRadar doesn't even count as a cheat blows my mind.
I didn't read the whole thing, but thsi caught my eye, and it makes sense:
Honestly, in this day-and-age of MMOs (especially older ones), where most people who play are adults with families, it's surprising that games don't have an auto-pilot mode that maybe isn't as good as a real player, but can fill in the gaps while you have to take care of some RL emergency, since there's no Pause button, ever. Except that it's not surprising at all, given that SE's disclaimer 'not to forget your family, friends, job, etc.' when you close POL and open FFXI is a pile of BS, and all they really care about is keeping you hooked in as long as they can so they can get another $12.95.
