And people wonder why lolpup is around. The SS is down but basically Shariz did like a 90 backhand blow and then Daze did 1k damage on a mob several levels higher (go go attuner). He has 3 fire maneuvers up, which causes massive overload rates ( a very bad thing ). Meanwhile, a properly geared PUP will do 400-600 Raging Fists w/o a BRD and 500+ dazes with no manuevers up.

This is what we're having to deal with on the PLD forums recently. A PLD/WHM (yes.. /whm) has come in and started telling us that warrior's 'evade attacks,' drk should exp in 'full heca' for TP build, equipment swaps should be banned... etc etc etc. Just find some of the 6 theads he's had locked this past week or two.

I haven't read your link, but there is a Dale on Midgardsormr who always played as PLD/WHM and has been around for quite a while. I don't know him personally and don't think I have ever been in any party of any kind with him.

I do know he spent months soloing as PLD/WHM in Uleguerand Range (I would see him as I went up for the ENMs), and I have heard he would party as PLD/WHM main healer in parties (not as the tank).. but don't know much more than that about him.

Awhile back I ran a very casual sky LS which was really two social LSes working together(mostly people who couldn't normally join a LS due to schedule or due to loyalty), and I wanted to look into setting up Dynamis for the LS. Two LSes were not enough, so I was looking for another social with high-levels. Dale has a LS, knowing little about him(but knowing some of the people in his LS), I asked if he was interested and what were his conditions.

He demanded that currency always be free-lotted on, by everyone, during the run. I didn't listen to anything else he had to say. I later found out he is PLD/WHM only, oh boy.

Let me try this once more. I want you to erase damage caps from your mind, as they have absolutely nothing to do with this.

You use a Durandel with 40 damage. YOu use a Princely Sword with 47 damage. Fight a monster this damage cap stuff does not come into play. Do not get a bard, do not eat meat. Do not fight Byako.

You will hit harder with a Princely Sword. Why? Because it has more damage. It will be easily seen. The damage difference in a 40 damage sword and 47 damage sword will be readily apparant.

Now on that same monster, without eating meat, or getting bard. Approach no where near this dreaded damage cap.

Use your Princely Sword on it. Then use your Company Sword on it. In a full party.

Do this, and you will see no such damage differences will be seen. In fact, the Princely sword will consisitently hit harder due to it's slightly higher damage and STR bonus. This would not be the case if the Company Sword truly did turn into a 56, 54, or 51 damage sword. NO. You would see a similiar and even greater damage difference as you did when you compared the Durandel to the Princely Sword. Therefore, leading you to come to the conclusion the Company Sword does not turn into a 56 damage sword.

This test was done in a full party on a sheep in caederva mire. The sheep never used his berserk move. He spammed sleep and paralyze moves the whole fight. I used Company First, then switched to Princely, then changed to the Durandel.

Notice how the Company Sword hits for similar damage that the Princely Sword does, which makes sense since they have similiar damage, Company being 46 and Princely being 47. HOwever, though similair, the Princely does hit consistentily a little harder, outdamaging the Company in 6 occasions and equaling it once. This also makes sense, seeing as it is a little stronger with a str bonus. Now this is where it gets interesting. NOtice the Durandel. It hits very noticeably lower than does the Princely Sword, with only it's critical hits being able to outdamage it's normal attacks. This should not be surprising though since the Princely Sword has 7 more damage than the Durandel. So it makes sense it would be quite a bit more powerful.

Now...if the Company Sword truly did turn into a 56 damage sword, or 54 damage sword...or what ever it is they are pretending it does today - you would see a similiar damage difference between the Princely Sword and the Company Sword that you see between the Princely Sword and the Durandel. This is common sense. HOwever no such damage difference is to be seen. The Company Sword hits like you would expect a 46 damage sword to hit, in a full party. Therefore any logical person would come to the conlcusion it is untrue that the Company Sword turns into a 56, 54, 51...whatever damage sword in a full party. Let me repeat - it hits like a 46 damage sword, in a full party or not. But this also makes sense, since it is the damage the game actually says it has.

Now before you start ranting and raving how retarded and idiotic i am because i didn't sneak attack too weaks in ronfaure let me just say you asked for numbers, so i gave them to you. I'm fully aware you will go on believing in your nonsense, and that's just fine with me.
