We had a WHM in our shell who was very talented, very nice, but her only flaw was that she refused to wear a Noble's. Why? Because it didn't match with the rest of her outfit (Blessed)! She refused shining cloths from us on a few occasions, and eventually got her secondary char to 75 (RDM) so she just started using that for everything. She is now no longer in the ls.

I honestly don't get why you'd refuse +10% cure potency, and especially for THAT reason?

the irony here is, the blessed gear matches the noble's better than the noble's gear does -.-; there's a reason it's white and blue and gold trimmed!

Okay, I dont play Final Fantasy 11. I tried it once on my xb360 and I didnt like it. But this aint about that, Im just saying my little background. I just going to get to the point, because Im exhausted, it took me forever to get this forum thing working(signing up could be easier).

Im a regular player of Halo 2 or I was anyway. I was actually pretty ranked high in it too. But my true love is Big Team Battle. I love it a lot. And my name on Halo 2 is Fafnir92. I picked the name because I was liked how it sounded after reading somethings on wikipedia.

So I had a situation because apparently someone from this game like picking on me because of my name. Originally, it confused me, but because of what he was saying I knew it was a RPG thing. I asked all of my friends who play World of Warcraft, and one of them used to play this game. He told me Fafnir is a boss in this game. So anyway, he didnt know a lot about it, but he said he would ask for me on this site. Its been a week and now im going to do it myself.

I will try to keep this short and sweet:

I entered the lobby of a Big Team Battle game. There is a lot of trash talk and all that(if you play Halo 2 you know what I mean LOL). But one person kept on shouting "Drop me some Ridels". His name was MonsterPlayerKill(I did not know this at the time as all the mics were lighting up at once). He keep on saying it. Over and over again. I didnt know he was talking to me, but I was about to find out. The lobby part ended and he is on the other team.

So the game begins and, you know, I get some guns and stuff(I always aim for the sniper). And out of NOWHERE, I heard "Drop me some ridels!" and before I can find the player saying it, MonsterPlayerKill melees me dead. Over my body he says "Where are the ridels at?!". Im like what the hell is with this guys gimmick. Anyway I respawn and Im running back to the sniper. And then I hear AGAIN. "Drop me some ridels!" and he shoots me with a god damn rocket laucher. I still dont get it at this point.

I dont see him for awhile as I dont attempt to grab the sniper. I get in a few kills in and finally things are looking up you know? Anyway, I was about the find out MonsterPlayerKill only was interested in me. I was with three other guys in my team. He runs around a corner with a shotgun. He could have easily killed the two people in front of me, but he just jumps over them, yells "Give my ridels fafhogg" and kills me. And the next time I see him, I shout, "I DONT KNOW WHAT A RIDEL IS!" and then I kill him. I felt good getting some revenge.

So the match ends. I hear him saying "That wasnt cool Fafnir, you should of just given my Ridel, now Im going to bot you". Im like "Shut up you b*tch". The next match starts... and there is one problem with Big Team Kills. The matches are big(16 people) and not a lot of people play them. So often you get the same players. And surprise, surprise, MonsterPlayerKill is in the next game.

And this time we are teammates.

He is saying his Ridel stuff again, Im just ignoring it. The game loads and I see him. I walk up to him and I try to be civilaze. Im like "Yo Monster lets just put the past behind us and work to-" BOOM, the F*CKER SHOTS ME, POINT BLACK, IN THE HEAD WITH A PISTOL. And he start shouting "I WANT MY RIDEL FAFNIR, GIVE MY RIDEL SO THE BARDS WILL INVITE ME". And its just F*CKING HORRIBLE. Everytime I spawn, he runs up to me and kills me. I cant get a good gun while he has several. Im so fed up, I think Im done for the night.

He sends me a friend invite... and by accident I accept. I dont even know how to delete that sh*t and from then on, I was stuck with him. Every f*cking game, he followed me and killing me and he kept on asking "WHERE IS MY RIDEL FAFNIR? I WANT MY RIDEL FAFNIR! WHY DONT YOU RESPAWN FASTER FAFNIR? NO, B*TCH I DONT WANT A BALMAG I WANT A RIDEL". I reported him using the thing and I think I just praised him, those stupid menus make no sense.

It came to the point that I stopped playing Halo 2 and never touched the game again. Im even considering selling my xb360 to a friend because Im so distrauth over the whole thing.

So I have to ask you guys, what is a ridel?

Um WOW LOL, I didnt expect this to be like popular. thank you for the information. I still dont honestly get it(the sword doesnt look too special, but I dont play so whatever). At least the fafnir monster looks pretty damn sweet. I always though he would be a snake, but final fantasy is weird so wteva LOL.

Bye now, I got my info. Enjoy your game. I think Im going to play Gears of War now. Im trying to think of a good name and not one that will have this problem. Im a huge Full Metal Alchemist fan, so Ill probably go with some like Khamaira.

I revamped the Skillchain section of FFXIclopedia and apparently some uneducated hippie couldn't understand it so he changed it back even though I'm sure the smart ones of us out there could benefit from the information. Now I may have been wrong to post a revision so large without solid proof, but it speaks for itself if you are good with vocabulary. I don't feel like arguing with idiots to get it put back up. I'm tired of dealing with retards. It doesn't have to be literal from the mouths of SE, the game, or a manual. Think outside the box and use more figurative methods to understand why the game is the way it is. Some guys sat around a table and thought this stuff up. Basically, learn to think for yourself.

First you must take one thing in this game as fact before you continue. Vana'diel revolves around the 8 elements to such a degree that it is 'in' everything we do.

It boils down to two main epiphanies I had one night:

1. The skillchain attribute of weaponskills are based on what the weaponskill does.

Level 1:
Transfixion (Light) = piercing hit
Liquefaction (Fire) = powerful hit
Impaction (Lightning) = blunt hit
Detonation (Wind) = exploding or swift hit
Compression (Dark) = vile/pressurized hit
Scission (Earth) = slashing hit
Reverberation (Water) = shaking hit
Induration (Ice) = hard hit

Level 2:
Debatable.

This may be confusing to some people...but I assure you Blunt and Hard are as different as Stun and Paralysis. A stunning blow versus a crippling blow.

The icon color does not correspond to the Skillchain attribute, even though it can be related. i.e. - Burning Blade has a Red icon because it deals Fire elemental damage and has a Liquefaction attribute.

Examples:
Tachi:Enpi - two hits, one a slice the second a stab. The SC attributes are Earth(Scission) and Light(Transfixion). It has a Slashing and Piercing hit.

Guillotine - Green Icon cause it causes Silence, a Wind-based spell. Attribute is Ice(Induration) because of the hard hitting nature. Take a look at similar weaponskills.

Smash Axe - Icon is Purple(Thunder) because it causes Stun. Its attributes however are Ice and Water. It hits hard and shakes the enemy. Similar to Brainshaker.

Blade: To - a hard hit of Ice followed by an explosion of sorts. Dominant attribute is Induration, secondary attribute of Detonation.

So many more I can list...

This is kinda the relationship between the Visual and Hidden. Shining Strike is visibly light-oriented, but the attribute (what is felt, not seen) is Impaction.

Here is how I see it.
Icon | Damage Type | Attributes

Shining Strike:
White | Deals Light Elemental Damage | Impaction Skillchain Attribute
The "Elemental" Damage Type is why this will not stack with Sneak Attack.

The damage type is not to be confused with the attribute! What confuses people is that they can be related, as well as the damage type being associated with an magic element or status.


2. Skillchains are read like sentences.

Level 1:
Liquefaction > Impaction = Fusion
If you melt a substance and compact it you achieve fusion.

Idnuration > Reverberation = Fragmentation
If you indurate (harden) a substance and then violently shake it, it will fragment or shatter.

Detonation > Compression = Gravitation
Exploding and imploding at the same time creates a gravitational paradox.

Transfixion > Scission = Distortion
Piercing and cleaving an object leaves it deformed.

Level 2:
Fusion + Fragmentation = Light
Fusing a broken object restores it to its original form. Hence healing being associated with light.

Gravitation + Distortion = Darkness
A gravitational distortion is much like that of a Black Hole which in Physics absorbs all light.

To clarify:
Liquefaction = to melt
Impaction = to impact
Idnuration = to harden
Reverberation = to shake
Detonation = to explode
Compression = to compress
Transfixion = to pierce
Scission = to slash

The Level 2 Skillchain elements are not the same as the preceding weaponskill attributes that created it. Fusion produces heat and light, Wind and Thunder fragment what they touch, the Earth and Darkness of space can be loosely associated with gravity, and Water and Ice distort your vision.

Was that too hard to understand?

Now feel free to bitch, complain, and discredit anything an everything. But I implore you, add to this, research it, use it to benefit the game instead of making it out to be an 'artistic' view. Seriously, the game was freaking made by the Japanese. The systems in game will follow their culture and thought processes. Just cause it doesn't make sense to you, doesn't mean its wrong.

I'm almost 100% sure this is all correct information, but maybe I am presenting it wrong. I stumbled upon in one night asking myself the "Why is this the way it is?" question. However, I no longer care about this information. I am rid of the burden. I uncovered it and presented it. As long as I understand Skillchains fully, other people can do what they want with it. I don't want any credit, I just hope this can be put to good use.
