Actually no it is not and you are mistaken. Let's use a traditional party versus speed kill.. So there is basic timing to play with:

You fight a Rumble Crawler, the Crawler proceeds to damage you and then is killed.. So you save the healing for the beginning of the next round.. You Flash >> Voke >> Cure 3.. Hey thats great however the Cure 3 was a wasted effort, simple because you cannot gain enmity off healing a previous mob's dealt damage.

Enmity works fight by fight.. it does not bleed over, the only way this would work is if you did a Flash/Voke Combo at the beginning of the fight and you popped Sentinel the previous fight and it was still active.

Test this theory out, on something EP or less (to ensure you live) and take a WHM buddy along with you. Have them cure 5 bomb you after atleast flash the mob. The WHM will not pull hate, nor would have you added any additional enmity to the new mob being brought to camp.


Bottom line: Let the mages heal you up after the fight or during a new pull and save your MP pool for during the fights.

This was posted in response to a PLD saying he didn't like when mages cured him between fights, since he wanted to be able to Cure III at the start of the next fight. Either this guy is an idiot, or I am. I have a very hard time believing this to be true though. Someone brought up the idea of macroing in HP+ gear and healing yourself to generate hate, and he said that that doesn't do anything at all except for the hate you'd get from healing any damage you might have taken from the mob. Someone else brought up healing yourself after Convert, but he didn't respond to that one. Thread is here. BTW he's a Sage.

It's quite easy to get 100+ on Greater Colibri with 2 mages and 4 DDs. Hell, it's pretty easy with 2 mages and 3 DDs.

Sindarek got his Sage status in the armpit of Alla, the Caitsith forum. He got massive rateups for linking the "more DOTs" thing... 2 fucking weeks ago. When he discovers Leeroy Jenkins, I'm sure he'll make Sage.

I think (hope) they meant only PUP&maton can do it without gimping themselves (such as a polearm or H2H WAR or club NIN or something) or without getting hard-to-get items (such as DRKraken), in which case they sorta are right, except they're not because BLU can do slashing/piercing/blunt/melee/ranged/magic/all colors of the rainbow damage decently as far as I know.

War can do most types without being too too gimp, since they can get I think all the quested WS excluding katana, gkatana, and h2h? Obviously not as good as the jobs that specialize, but not terrible. They can at least open or close almost any way of making light or dark thats possible, assuming they've taken the time to have their skills leveled and the weaponskills quested

alot of the specialized weapon types have a cross-damage weapon too (like a blunt polearm etc) although they don't change the skillchain damage type (penta is still piercing).
